This is my dog, Ollie. He is the younger of my two dogs. He's one of the best dogs you could ever ask for, but he's not very bright. That's okay. He's perfect the way he is. When Ollie gets really hairy, he reminds me of a teddy bear. That's when I know it's time to get OllieBear groomed. Back in 2008, Blizzard gave everyone who was playing World of Warcraft a baby polar bear in-game pet to commemorate WoW's 4th anniversary. The bear is completely adorable, but will occasionally just sit ...
Not the Biggest Loser
I have no idea how this happened (okay I do) but Charlie's now 30 lbs. Not too sure how to deal with this, as he, Misty, and Max share the same bowl of food.* He's not much of an exerciser, either. Obviously. He's 10 years old and in good health. They're already on cat "weight control" food, more for him than Misty. Misty's pudgy, but not overweight. Has anyone out there been successful with helping one cat lose weight in a multi-cat household? *Yes, Max eats cat food. He ignored the dog food ...
The cat days of summer
Congrats Joe from Stratford! I was at Home Depot! The store's playlist really boggled my mind. I thought that a home improvement store would have more...manly...music. (No offense to the Wandering Minstrel or any other guy who digs girly power ballads.) I was expecting George Thorogood, Bruce Springsteen or the Rolling Stones. Music that would inspire someone to take up his power tools and "git-r-done!" Instead, I get easy listening. Oh well. Had to take the picture down because of some rule ...
Cat on sweater
From my cell phone!Misty on my sweater So maybe I won't wear this to work today. ...
Come and knock on my door!
I've been waiting for you... I wanted to give you a bitty update on where the apartment stands. I mentioned before that it's starting to look like a home. I'm actually proud of my little living room/kitchen now. (Bedroom's still pretty Spartan. I'll focus on that next) So..welcome! Wait...something's eerie here... Eeek! Not really my apt number, naturally. I'm a bit smarter than that. Not much, though, since any of us an be easily found online anymore. Birthday gift from the aunt and ...
fakin a smile with your coffee to go
Damn..the last few days have been absolutely craptastic. Anyway... 'Zat is the state of the kitchen. Note the Cookies sign above the nook (yes, there will be a cookiecam 2006) and the red cutting mat and red paper towel holder. I'm so thrilled with how these red accents are starting to look! Misty is loving the red ottoman. There are catnip toys all over the place, so both she and Charlie are perpetually stoned. But more importantly, I now own a television. A HDTV, to be exact. Next I ...
Misty
From my Treo!Misty Yep...I'd say she's adapting just fine. Although she looks one-eyed in this photo. ...
Letter to a brown canine
Dear Max: When I come home from work and I'm already wearing my sneakers, this means that I have been to Curves already. And I've exercised already. And I most likely am tired and sweaty and do NOT want to take you for a walk. We have a yard big enough for you to wear yourself out while running around it. It is full of trees and shrubs for you to pee against, and gardens for you to poop in. You and I have taken over 1100 strolls together since we brought you home. A break once in a while ...
Weekend update
(slyly puts some Disney music on in the background) Weekend in a nutshell: Mom's Family BDay dinner friday at the Olive. No drinking, no bread. World of Warcraft Saturday/Sunday. Leota, the undead mage is now 15! Wings win 15-8! I'm up WAY too late for a Sunday night. Upcoming Work week: End of month reports tomorrow. Training on Tuesday. New product launch on Wednesday. (bueno?) Can't say much more due to suspected moles at work. Upcoming Social week: Birthday party tomorrow night. (must ...
Catching up
Catching up (warning: long!)I could lie to you and say I didn't blog for a week out of respect for President Reagan, but that'd be a big fat lie. Being that I prefer small white lies instead, I'll tell the truth. This week has been punctuated by extreme periods of business. The non-busy moments were pure laziness. Let's catch you up,.Last Saturday, I went to the Riversharks game with Thor, John, Erin, and Erin's sister. Through the pouring rain, we watched Smarty Jones lose the Triple Crown. ...
Settling in
Listening to Jessica Simpson sing is like listening to someone make balloon animals. You have to endure a bunch of random squeaking noises and cringe while waiting for the POP.How are we coping w/the house? When we were at the dingy apartment, all Max wanted to do was run free. So here we are, with a big fenced backyard, and he's terrified of it. When we let him out, he stays firmly upon the concrete patio, and will only go onto the grass if one of us is out there beckoning him to come. Not good. ...
January 26, 2004
Happy Birthday Dad!I'm not feeling too well today. My stomach is all gurgly and I'm freezing, even though the heat is on. Two pair of socks and my feet are still like ice. I hope to high Heaven that I'm not getting the flu -- John's graduation is Friday and his party's on Saturday. I also have a candle party (groan) to go to at Tricia's tomorrow night. Plus I REALLY don't want to miss work. It's making me grumpy -- I've been short with the animals all night. I just booted Misty from the chair ...
