Still here. Still broken. But the days keep flipping by. Today's my last "Summer Friday" from TNP for the year. I love summer so much and it feels like this year it slipped out from under me. I have to blog the Virginia Beach trip. That'll be a temporary fix. I had a massage at Hand and Stone today courtesy of my nephew. He's a savvy baby that way. Then I bought some futility cream at Ulta and an iced chai from Starbucks. Now we are out on the balcony (trying to ignore the cigarette smoke from ...
Brothers and very best friends
We've been having a lot of thunderstorms lately. During a particularly nasty one, the zoo was hunkered down on the sofa with me. And this happened. Yes, that's Charlie and Ollie "holding paws" during the storm. If I could freeze time and keep my current configuration of pets like this forever, I would in a minute. ...
The story of OllieBear
This is my dog, Ollie. He is the younger of my two dogs. He's one of the best dogs you could ever ask for, but he's not very bright. That's okay. He's perfect the way he is. When Ollie gets really hairy, he reminds me of a teddy bear. That's when I know it's time to get OllieBear groomed. Back in 2008, Blizzard gave everyone who was playing World of Warcraft a baby polar bear in-game pet to commemorate WoW's 4th anniversary. The bear is completely adorable, but will occasionally just sit ...

World's weirdest cat
He stared at the pig for over a half hour. Edited to add: My luck, and the way this year has been, he's probably watching a poisonous scorpion crawl by. ...

Catch-up
Thor's at the theater experiencing part 3 of six but really-hopefully- the last Star Wars movie. As you can tell, I'm not there. To each his own. Now before I go out and start tending to our barren garden...let's catch up on the week. Yesterday, Charlie ate something Bad. Charlie is frightened of everything. Even bellyaches. Because he was terrified, he tore through the house, spraying liquified poop on the carpets and walls as he tried to run away from himself. This happened three times ...
Weekend update
(slyly puts some Disney music on in the background) Weekend in a nutshell: Mom's Family BDay dinner friday at the Olive. No drinking, no bread. World of Warcraft Saturday/Sunday. Leota, the undead mage is now 15! Wings win 15-8! I'm up WAY too late for a Sunday night. Upcoming Work week: End of month reports tomorrow. Training on Tuesday. New product launch on Wednesday. (bueno?) Can't say much more due to suspected moles at work. Upcoming Social week: Birthday party tomorrow night. (must ...
You’ve come a long way, kitty
Back in May, Charlie was hiding in the closet. Now, he seems to have found a new place to hang out. I much prefer this one, don't you? (3/17: no idea where the picture is) Welcome, Boo-bear. Dinner: 1 cup pasta (200 cal); 1/2 can diced tomatoes (87.5 cal); 2 tsp parmesan (20 cal) ...
January 26, 2004
Happy Birthday Dad!I'm not feeling too well today. My stomach is all gurgly and I'm freezing, even though the heat is on. Two pair of socks and my feet are still like ice. I hope to high Heaven that I'm not getting the flu -- John's graduation is Friday and his party's on Saturday. I also have a candle party (groan) to go to at Tricia's tomorrow night. Plus I REALLY don't want to miss work. It's making me grumpy -- I've been short with the animals all night. I just booted Misty from the chair ...
