I finally did it. I cancelled my World of Warcraft account. It's been months since I logged in and when I totaled the money I spent on entertainment that I didn't experience, I decided to pull the plug. For now. Or maybe forever. And while I'll miss this bad-ass demon slayer and Healer of Noobs... ... I had amazing times in that game and took away from it more real-life benefits than you could ever imagine. Al diel shala. I'm looking for a more casual game I can play on my ...
The story of OllieBear
This is my dog, Ollie. He is the younger of my two dogs. He's one of the best dogs you could ever ask for, but he's not very bright. That's okay. He's perfect the way he is. When Ollie gets really hairy, he reminds me of a teddy bear. That's when I know it's time to get OllieBear groomed. Back in 2008, Blizzard gave everyone who was playing World of Warcraft a baby polar bear in-game pet to commemorate WoW's 4th anniversary. The bear is completely adorable, but will occasionally just sit ...
Lord of the Pickup Lines
OK, I caved. I lasted little more than a month without playing an online game. Tonight I signed up for the 30 day trial of Lord of the Rings Online. I didn't want to do it at first because there is neither a "priest" or "wizard" class in the game - those are the roles I'm most inclined to play. I went with the minstrel class, because I can heal and buff up my fellows. Anyway, on my first hour or so of playing, guess what uber-geek "character" I ran into? I'm guessing this is an incarnation ...
See ya later, Azeroth
As of today, I am no longer a World of Warcraft player. (pauses for the appropriate gasp) This'll mark the first day since 2/14/2001 that I don't subscribe to one (or more) Massive multiplayer online role-playing game. I suppose part of it is due to The Cheapening ... (thought process jarred as we come across a program on "Gay Bingo" on PBS. I want to play Gay Bingo! There are drag queens and no smoking and they call the numbers relatively quickly!) ...but most of it came from ...

3 Points of Business
1) My name is Kim. I have played video games since I was 8 years old. Some fantasy, some fun, and some amazingly violent ones. Mortal Kombat? Check. Grand Theft Auto? Check. MMORPGs where I sneak up behind other players and stab them in the back? Check. I am a 33-year-old woman who owns a house, is in a stable married relationship, and sits on the executive board at my job. (am I allowed to say that?) I have never assaulted a real-life person. I do not own a gun. Or even a baseball ...
Happy Birthday Mom!
Last Swing Dance class: Basically, Thor and I went from knowing nothing about swing dancing to knowing some moves and sucking at them. S'okay...gives us an excuse to practice. :) We switched computer desks today...basicallly because Thor now has TWO pcs to game with, and he needed my spot so that he could see both monitors. (I had a desk to my right) Now I'm in the corner in front of the closet, and for my next webcam shot, you should be spared MOST of the fugly plaid wallpaper. Brunch: Garden ...
Busy weekend!
Another Sunday night...another weekend flown by.Here's a quick wrapup in reverse chronological order.Tonight is the WWE Royal Rumble. Even though I've really fallen away from following pro wrestling like I used to, the Royal Rumble is one of my favorite events. Mom's hosting it.Thor and I had dinner at the Olive Garden. Before that, we had our third Swing Dance class. Just when we think we're really progressing, the teacher introduces another step. This week we went over hand changes and various ...

DAoC and homes
I did two things today that I never thought I'd do:1) I started playing Dark Age of Camelot (again). I rolled a Cleric named Gynnett. Pronounced "Gannett," natch. Every other name I created was already taken, and if with the "y" in place of the "a" the name looks pretty Anglo. Anyhow, Gynnett's level 8.2) I uninstalled Movable Type. Yes, after all the brouhaha I made about getting it working, I scrapped it. Why? For starters, my blog is pretty simple. Right now, I don't really want comments, I ...
