Beastly-long day

Today’s going to be another beastly-long day a la last Tuesday. We’re having a call-in night, where our readers and subscribers can call/email between 5pm and 8pm and speak with the upper management. Which…includes…me, believe it or not. Yes, it…

It’s an update! And a date!

Yes! More updating! I tweaked my styles a bit. Now the left bar and the right bar should be the same width. I also want to redo the top graphic. It looks too empty and not wide enough. My archives…

On lemons, lemonade, and paycheck stubs

I really didn’t want to work the Taste of Home show last night. Not nary in the least. Damon had a personal day yesterday, so I didn’t make my 3:30pm start time. Exhausted from a full day of work, I…

Day off

Ah. Day off. I’m blogging leisurely from bed and recovering from yesterday, which can only be called one of the more stressful days of my short managerial existence. But that was yesterday. This morning at 9 we meet our Buyer’s…

Yeah Baby!!

Yeah Baby!! See Kim. See Kim’s new, kicky, smoulderingly-corporate-yet-still-fun-despite-my-obsession-with-greenbar-reports hairdo. See Kim holding brand new mortgage preapproval letter. See Kim, future homeowner. We’re going to look at a house on Monday night. See Kim’s rising star award. Yes, the one…

Spa night and starting the house-buying episode

Tonight was a self-designated spa night. I had some retail therapy today which took me to Bath and Body. I bought the gel lined socks and a pumpkin purifying face mask. The mask smells and looks like real pumpkin slop….

very hungry again

Food intake for today: pint of milk, slice of pound cake (c/o Camille, who took a day out of her busy retirement to come and visit us all!), cream of broccoli soup, tall (which is really small) caramel macchiato. Looking…

An Open Letter Dear Recording Industry,I knew that Norah Jones was releasing her second album and that it hit the stores yesterday. I was a huge fan of her first album, I was a bit iffy about this one —…

Return of the Sunday jitters

And the Sunday jitters return. Looking ahead, this week’s going to be hairy. The Best of South Jersey promotion launched today. Meaning tomorrow we put something online. There’s a biggie special section coming out on Thursday, which requires prettying up,…

Spinning plates

Two job interviews tomorrow — very good. We are really hitting our busy time and I’m starting to feel the strain of being shorthanded. Plus, Damon has jury duty tomorrow, so I’m flying solo. Eeep. As for the sick PC,…

Nope, no flu.

Nope, no flu. Just a gurgly stomach that I attribute to stresses at work and beyond. The job is going well, so to speak. I’m still grossly unconfident, but I’m sure that will change as time marches on. On the…

a right good weekend

As weekends go, this was a right good one. Today I rolled out of bed at TEN am! I’d not slept that late in ages, and it felt very good. I’m looking forward to my schedule moving to 8:30 –…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
