very hungry again

Food intake for today: pint of milk, slice of pound cake (c/o Camille, who took a day out of her busy retirement to come and visit us all!), cream of broccoli soup, tall (which is really small) caramel macchiato. Looking…

Not as hungry

OK. Back to normal. I had tons of water (will be up all night) and a nice bowl of pasta w/tomatoes, basil, and garlic. Now I’m ever so sleepy. Thor’s still in bed, so I may take out some of…

hungry, I’m so hungry

Oh my LORD I am so hungry. I forgot how totally totally horrible the first day of a healthy eating plan diet can be. Listen, I had a really stressy day. Inconceivably stressy. And all I want is a cheesesteak….

a momentary victory at the gym

7:22 am. Guess from where I just returned? The gym. Yes, the gym! I slapped a Destiny’s Child CD in the player and did 17 minutes on the elliptical and far fewer pullups than I used to. But it’s a…

Spinning plates

Two job interviews tomorrow — very good. We are really hitting our busy time and I’m starting to feel the strain of being shorthanded. Plus, Damon has jury duty tomorrow, so I’m flying solo. Eeep. As for the sick PC,…

Nope, no flu.

Nope, no flu. Just a gurgly stomach that I attribute to stresses at work and beyond. The job is going well, so to speak. I’m still grossly unconfident, but I’m sure that will change as time marches on. On the…

Christmas 2003 recap

Christmas is a snowflake that you watch fall slowly from the sky. For what seems like forever, you squint your eyes, crane your neck skyward and follow its erratic path. And as it gets closer to you, you become excited,…

weight musings

Dinner yesterday was fab-u! I’d never been to Carrabba’s before, so I was pleasantly surprised. I had tilapia with steamed broccoli. Sounds healthy, but then again I ate six pounds of bread beforehand. Are you on the Atkins Diet? Great…send…

November 17, 2003 – evening

Kim’s definition of unfair: Seeing women at the YMCA come out of a grueling hour-long aerobics class with not only their makeup still on, but their ponytails still sporting perky little flips. On a GOOD day, my hair bears a…

Ouch.

Ouch. So yesterday I did Body Pump. Today, I can barely move. Where is the justice? I mean, every muscle group hurts except for my back. I guess I didn’t work my back hard enough! 😉 Watched WWE Unforgiven —…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
