Boston Rob

I [heart] Boston Rob. I hope he goes all the way. I hope he and Amber get married and live forever with (one of) their million dollars.I believe in fairy tales. In other news, tonight Max learned how to unwrap a fortune cookie, eat the cookie, not eat the wrapper, AND spit out the fortune. His fortune reads: "Accept the next proposition you hear."Which, for Max, is: "Get away from my wonton soup!!" ...

Groggy

Groggy.I retired to bed last night right as Thor headed to work. I don't think I moved until the alarm went off. I have the radio portion set to the sappiest easy-listening station in town. Yes, it's annoying but it gets the job done. If I had better music as my alarm, I'd never wake up on time and my dreams would be choreographed like the beginning of the Austin Powers movies. However, that doesn't stop me from wondering what the heck Elton John's "Daniel" is about. I assume Daniel's dead and ...

Spa night and starting the house-buying episode

Tonight was a self-designated spa night. I had some retail therapy today which took me to Bath and Body. I bought the gel lined socks and a pumpkin purifying face mask. The mask smells and looks like real pumpkin slop. I put it on for 10 minutes, then washed it off. My face felt goopy at first, but now it's very smooth. After my shower I put the gel socks on. They have a squishy lining inside. I'll wear them all night and hopefully tomorrow my feet will be baby-smooth. They really go through a ...

Drooling over Survivor AllStars

I saw the new cover of TV guide today. The cover blared, "BEFORE THEY WERE STARS: How TV launched their careers!"The 3 stars on the cover? Johnny Depp, Jennifer Aniston and Sarah Jessica Parker. Johnny Depp started out on the laughable 21 Jump Street, and catapulted into movies shortly thereafter. He went from teen fluff to a guy w/serious acting chops. But as for Jennifer and Sarah Jessica...um...TV didn't just launch their careers...it's still their careers. Jennifer has had a few mediocre box ...

On my usual path to work, there is a 4-lane road. The right lane is the slow lane. The left lane travels MUCH faster; however, occasionally you will come to a screeching halt if someone in front of you is trying to make a left.Every morning I ponder which lane to drive in. USUALLY I'm in the left lane. Trying to get to my destination faster. Inevitably, I end up stopped, while my compatriots in the right lane cruise on by. Yet, when I use the right lane, I mutter at how much more progress the ...

Survivor AllStars and more whining about my job

One more interview tomorrow. But more importantly, I'm super bummed that Rudy was voted off of the Subota tribe. I hope Jerri, Jenna L, and Ethan get dysentery. I worked until almost 8 tonight. It's ok, though, because I managed to clean a lot of stuff off of my desk. I get creeped out when I go in and the papers are just dripping off of the sides of the desk. I'm a digital girl stuck in a photocopying world. At least it's dark and cold out, so I don't mind staying late to work. My guess is ...

Survivor AllStars and John’s party recap

You know...it just feels sinful to be eating a bowl of pasta at midnight. Then again, I just got through an hour of watching the coolest reality show EVER -- Survivor AllStars. It was like seeing a bunch of old friends again. And CBS seems intent on killing them. They'll live, though. They're tough. A few years ago, I wanted to audition for Survivor. The only thing stopping me was lack of access to a video camera. My selling point? The fact that I had never even camped before. Wouldn't that ...

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

If you want peace, you don’t talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies. - Archbishop Desmond Tutu

Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble. - Representative John Lewis

You can still have a cozy day without having the “aesthetic.” Sometimes your cozy place has a dog crate in front of it. Sometimes the toilet bowl cleaner scent overpowers your candle. It’s still perfect. #cozy #reallife #genx
