September extras

Photos and thoughts from September that were a little thin for their own post. To my surprise and honor I was nominated to serve a term on the Board of Directors of an organization that I’ve been a member of…

This beat cha-ching like money

It should come as no surprise to ANYBODY who has known me for even the slightest bit that I love me some boy bands. Always have, always will. If you haven’t heard of BTS before, they are a K-Pop band…

State of the Wardrobe

My wardrobe has two distinctly different styles: WORK (biz casual, blazers, fancy sweaters, dresses, jeans), or SLOB (fleece, elastic, hoods). Now that I’m working from home until at least January I’m trying to upgrade SLOB to include comfortable clothing that…

Pouring one out for RBG

On Friday night, we learned of the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She’s best known for being a liberal justice, but she was also a hell of a trailblazer. She was only one of 9 people in…

Ollie, September 2020

When the weather is nice and I don’t need a fantastic internet connection, I’ve been making an extra effort to take my laptop outside and sit in the shade to work. Ollie joins me, but doesn’t understand that if he…

Rage and Helplessness in the Time of COVID-19

This is another attempt to journal about life through the USA’s Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic. It’s rough and not pretty, but we’re all original sources during this historic time. Maybe someday someone will benefit. For consistency’s sake, I’m going to refer to…

Warcraft Escapism

Since it’s the only “travel” I’ll be doing in the near future, I may as well enjoy the scenery. As of this morning Leota Lyotta is 26, Kevashandia is 21, and I have a level 6 shaman named Vanderhoof. Lyotta’s…

Who’s Zoomin’ who?

WM’s teaching remotely until the world either ends altogether or returns to a new and shittier normal. We’ll be sharing the office and figuring out how to combine his online teaching with my online meetings. This fall he’ll be passively…

Show us your books – September 2020

Look at me, posting on time for this event! Firstly, a huge thank you to those who donated or shared my birthday Facebook fundraiser for Black Girls CODE. We raised $300 of my $250 goal. I was afraid I’d receive…

Another trip around the Sun

Today I am 48 years old. I don’t know how this happened, because I still feel like a doofy teenager inside. However, my crackly knees loudly disagree. Friends, year 47 has been pretty shitty, “highlighted” by health worries for me…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
