I'm trade-publication famous!

I try very hard to separate work from blog, but I’m very proud and can’t let this go by without saying something… Last month, Associations Now magazine (official magazine of ASAE) interviewed my manager and me about how we manage…

Throwback Thursday: Cube decorating

I’m going to say this was December of 2010, because I wasn’t sitting in that spot in December 2009 and I didn’t have that hair color or bangs when I started at TNP in January 2012. I could have sworn…

Pennsylvania Conference for Women

I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the Pennsylvania Conference for Women on October 16. TNP paid for all of their female employees to go which, as I type it out, is weird and sad for the men….

Working at the Philadelphia Zoo

TNP took us all to the Philadelphia Zoo for a team-building exercise. After a big ol’ picnic/buffet lunch (hot dogs, hamburgers, barbeque chicken) in the Peacock Pavilion we divided up into four teams and went on a scavenger hunt. All…

Friday Five: Fireday Five

I know. It’s Saturday. But it’s a different kind of Saturday as I’m currently on an airplane heading to Spring Business Trip 2014 – which happens to be in Las Vegas! And I’m on the internet. This life, it’s so…

Throwback Thursday – JCPenney Store 305

More Throwback Thursday memorabilia! This was my last name tag from my very first job. I worked at the JCPenney at Echelon Mall through college. I spent most of the time in the Catalog/Credit/Customer Service department where I learned how…

Friday Five: Accessories

Happy Friday! The snow is melting! The temperature made it into the 50s today, which allowed me to finally walk to the library at lunch to renew my card. I really need to go there once a week. I also…

Throwback Thursday: TNP Interview 1

I know the spirit of Throwback Thursday is supposed to be old pictures of yourself, but I’ve been doing that for 11 years now, and if you’re looking for a catalog of my bad hair and wardrobe styling through the…

Throwback Thursday: iSpot

I used to design ads for the Courier-Post’s website. This was from June, 2005 and is remarkably crappy. I could do such a better job now, but it wouldn’t matter because people don’t buy iPods anymore. (although mine from 2006…

Cookie tally & work holiday wrapup

The cookies are done and I sang “O night Diviiiiiiine” as I shoved the cooling racks into the dishwasher and put the mixer back up on top of the fridge. Here’s the final tally: Two batches of gingerbread people One…

Throwback Thursday: "Little" Red Riding Hood

October, 2001. “Little” Red Riding hood — completely handmade by me except the blouse & tights. The shoes were from a wedding that I was in. And I had to lengthen the skirt six inches from the pattern. I’m a…

Wednesday Potpourri

The unthinkable happened: the Jeep is in the shop (finally getting air conditioning, woo) and the shuttle from the Dee-luxe apartment in the sky to the train station wasn’t running. WM dropped me off at the train on his way…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
