I used to work from home one day a week -- usually Mondays. As of March 16th all of us at TNP are working from home until June 1st at the earliest. Here is a typical work-from-home day... 7:30 - My alarm goes off. If I actually travel to work, it's set for 5:45. I don't know how I'll ever go back to that. 7:45-8:25, depending on laziness - Go downstairs to the office. 8:26 - Turn laptop on, connect it to large monitor, press the USB switcher button that switches my mouse and keyboard ...
It’s so nice to work from home…
Once a week, I get to work from home. I'm thankful for that opportunity because it makes it so much easier to have someone out to fix the latest broken thing in the house, or to sneak in a doctor appointment right before or after work. I get a lot of work done because I'm in my own quiet home instead of a cube farm. And I can do things like tackle some housework in the morning, and drop a spaniel off at the groomer before my workday starts. Which is what I did today. WM went to work. I ...
late night
Dreading work again. I took Friday off...my last vacation day before the holidays. So now I have three days of eek-mail to get back to** plus all sorts of projects in the works, procrastinated jobs to deal with and hurdles to clear. Tomorrow, I'm arriving at 8:15 so I can leave exactly at 5. BvP's home this week, and I miss the guy. I look forward to falling asleep with him on the sofa. Oh, and here is the CookieCam site for 2005. After trying to wrangle it into WordPress, I decided to ...

Twelve-hour day, baby! I'm still at work. Amazing. Thanks, "Big G", for holding a 3-day meeting during one of the busiest weeks we've ever had here. I also think they turn off the heat in this building after 8pm. Before I reapply my nose to the grindstone...a laugh for you. Last night I drove back from Virginia. I stumble back into the house, dump my stuff on the sofa, and chill. My toiletry bag was unzipped about 2 inches. I left it all on the sofa for a few hours, then I bring it ...
old skool
CoWorker S has left work to go have her baby. She usually starts work at 5:30 am to check the site..make sure all the links work. Basically, the stuff I used to do before I curiously grabbed the bottom rung of the corporate ladder and pulled the darn thing down on top of me. But she's off until mid-October now -- for a delightful reason. Which is why I'm up at 6:15 am. Noblesse oblige. Work is a major stress lately. The Big Summer Project is coming along swimmingly -- but it's sucking up ...
Tired.Of.Work
Three days at corporate last week. Three days in AC sandwiching an 8.5 hour meeting this week. Four days away next week. Work waiting for me on the laptop upstairs once I drag my carcass up to bed. I'm plumb burnt out. I don't CARE about my job right now. I think it's because if I were in school...summer vacation would be starting today. There. I've said it. Felt good too. As long as I'm not disclosing any financials...I can say that my job is challenging at times, right? Stressy? And ...
Our newest addition
Nikon Coolpix 4800. Just in time for... (smirk) Otherwise, things have been calm. The weekend was calm. I called out sick today -- private issue that I'm working on getting solved -- so naturally I'm all a-freaky about going in tomorrow to the inevitable questions and backlog of work. I'll cope. I get 10 sick days a year. And I never really use more than 5. But there is a strong corporate culture at work of, "Oh...I came to work when I had [insert disease name here.]" Or, "So-and-so came ...
Already?
Even though it's only my first full day on Proactiv, my skin feels so soft. The flakiness wasn't present today. Although the "Skin Repair" cream is a skosh burny in spots (the spots with spots, to be exact), it's no worse than any other of the creams I've applied in the past. The toner smells like sulfur. But really...if something doesn't smell disgusting these days, it's only because there's been 'fragrance' added to it.Still feeling blue. But thankful for the wellwishes. I'll get out of it. ...

Most of the time my posts are happy and upbeat. Because most of the time I am happy and upbeat. Because I am human, sometimes I'm blue. Today is one of those days, ergo this is one of 'those' posts. If blueness bums you out, or if you can't stand the thought of my being bummed then feel free to visit the Laughing Cat. This is my diary, after all. If I can't be honest here, then my alternative is to start up a private blog elsewhere, and I don't really want to keep up with two. And I swear, if I ...

NaNoWriMo update: 4117 words written. I'm still behind the curve, but catching up. Last night's torrential rains kept most of the NaNos away from Starbucks, but I did meet one other writer and we had a pleasant evening sipping hot drinks and tearing our hair out. The working title of my novel is Tumble Dry. No, you can't read it yet. Or possibly ever. I wanted to write a fantasy novel, but ended up with this piece of crappy "chick lit."How dedicated am I to this project? I missed both Survivor ...

Happy 1-year Blogiversary!!Blech. Was here at work until 4:00ish yesterday. Then food shopped. Bought a bunch of healthy foodstuffs, then had Chinese takeout for dinner.
