State of the Wardrobe

My wardrobe has two distinctly different styles: WORK (biz casual, blazers, fancy sweaters, dresses, jeans), or SLOB (fleece, elastic, hoods). Now that I'm working from home until at least January I'm trying to upgrade SLOB to include comfortable clothing that looks good on camera. That black and white long sleeved tee on top is from Old Navy and is very soft while looking professional, especially if I add a necklace. The stripes are spaced widely enough so as to not be a menace on camera. ...

Beach bum necklace

The older I get, the more Jersey pride I have. Maybe I'm trying to compensate for our size, our reputation, or our Governor. (Whom I voted for. Twice. Yeah.) In any case, I love my little Garden State. I even have a NJ Pinterest board! Two weeks ago, WM and I were at the Collingswood Mayfair and I saw the most creative jewelry idea! You might remember that I used to make jewelry as a hobby. I'll get back to it someday, I suppose. But I've seen so many copycat products that I got a little ...

Lazy style: Dressing for upcoming weddings.

Confession: Every outfit that looks great on me is one that I shamelessly grifted from a mannequin. If a fashion-savvy person puts , I will believe them 100%. As a result*, when Facebook showed me an eShakti ad for this dress... ...I knew I had to have it for the 2 weddings I'm attending this summer. I'm really excited because it combines a very elegant cut with a slightly crazypants tropical bird print. AND IT HAS POCKETS for me to hide hor d'oeuvres in. Now I need to find a pair ...

Zig zag dress

I literally saw it in a window display, marched in the store (Dress Barn, not Chicos. Yet.), tried it on and bought it. I like the neat pattern and the fall colors. This is definitely coming with me for "Fall 2013 Business Trip." I have a pair of brown boots, but they're mid-calf. ...

Friday Five: In Retrospect

Oof, this week was a tough one. We're starting up our Summer Fridays schedule. We bank 7 extra hours over 2 weeks, and get every other Friday ofF. Sweeeet deal, but I've been starting an hour earlier each day to bank my hours, and sheesh. I miss that hour in the mornings. My first Friday off is next week. It's pretty sad when my first thought is: "Ah! I should schedule a dentist appointment or my mammography for that day!" Oh, adulthood, you are twisted and unfair. I removed my BlogHer ad ...

naturally summer

From my Treo! Summer! An original photo by ladygypsy. 80 degrees today. Wearing tan twinset, a-line brown skirt with tan print, brown heels, tan headband and NO stockings kinda retro...i love summer! it's getting difficult to resist the call of the tanning booth. on one hand, I'm probably days away from skin cancer from all of my past sunning sins, so tanning would be dumb. but on the other hand, I'm probably days away from skin cancer ANYWAY from my past sunning sins, so why not do it ...

I figured that the pink/blue coat would be easier to keep looking clean than cream. Same coat, different color. :) ...

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
