Happy Friday! It was a busy week, and blogging got away from me. Sunday was Mother's Day and I took Mom to the Phillies game. After an hour rain delay, the game started and was a lot of fun. And the Phillies won! They're only a half-game out of first in the division. Monday I had an eye appointment. I got new glasses. They're purple. I'm on the fence. I was going for quirky and creative but I'm afraid I landed on old and eccentric. Tuesday was WM's birthday! We had pizza and cake ...
Happy Birthday WM!
Happiest of birthdays to the man who makes my soul sing. My favorite person. My adventuring history teacher, best friend, and biggest dooshbag (sic, and with love) I've ever known. Happy birthday, Tiger! ...
Stupid beading tricks: Seahorse set
Happy Presidents Day! Mom's birthday was on Thursday, and unfortunately, our get-together was snowed out. (Surprise, surprise.) Instead we went out last night to Iron Hill Brewery. As part of her gift, I made her this bracelet/earrings set: The cream beads came from Michaels, the small round ceramic washers from createyourbliss on Etsy, and the seahorses from Artbeads.com. I strung them with waxed linen cording. I usually use flexible beading wire, so working with the linen was new to me. ...

Baby, it’s cold outside
Tonight my Weatherpixie says 19 degrees. I hate the cold, but to be fair, this is the first REALLY cold day we've had this winter. The Weatherpixie looks all composed and warm in a tiny black jacket. Her real life counterpart is bundled up so thick that she looks like this doll. Max, on the other hand, enjoys the cold. He relishes it. He loves it so much that he still insists on going on walks in the subfreezing weather. He loves it so much that I'm considering shaving him bald so that he'll NOT ...
Tales from the treadmill
Today while walking/jogging/wheezing at the YMCA, I watched an infomercial on the television for the Total Gym. Having been suckered in by these ads before, I had no interest in the product. Instead, I ogled Christie Brinkley. When I was a kid and teen, she was the bomb. She was the epitome of what I wanted to look like. I washed my hair with Prell for years in an effort to get her look. I used Cover Girl makeup for years in an effort to get her look. She was the Catherine Zeta-Jones of my ...

I'm still stuffed from last night's Buca di Beppo dinner. Cousin Tricia gave me a sweet little bag from Nine West, Cousin Sue gave me a set of Lenox Tweety Salt&Pepper Shakers, and Aunt Dee gave me a pearl pendant. Not too shabby, hm?And that puts an end to the birthdayings. The football season has begun, and my interest level has gone from "none" to "mild" since I created my fantasy football team. Thor is much more of a college football fan, and follows his school's team closely. He'll be ...

Happy Birthday Mom!Actually, her bday is February 13th. The date above says the 14th, but since I haven't slept yet, I still consider ither birthday. Tonight we went to the Borgata, where we ate a nice dinner and gambled. It was hella crowded, what with the V-Day and President's Weekend crowds, and the bozos that figure Friday the 13th sounds like a lucky day to go gambling. I couldn't get a seat at the Roulette tables, so I resorted to slots. Did OK. Between Thor and I, only $70 or so was lost. ...
