Skelly Saturday

Our Halloween decorations include a plastic skeleton head and hands that we jam into the overgrown ivy in our front yard. The trick-or-treaters love it. WM loves it too and this year asked if we could leave it out and…

The AARP strikes again.

Eleven years ago when I was still in my 30s, I received an AARP card in the mail . Thursday I received a “thank you for joining” email to the account I use for retail receipts. And then yesterday, this……

Fractured Fairy Tales

Woof. Finally the nonbloggable becomes bloggable – Mom (aka A-Woww) tripped and fell 2 weeks ago, fracturing her kneecap and shattering her elbow. The knee will heal on its own in an immobilizer which thankfully allows her to walk. The…

What's new?

Been a while, eh? I was reminded I had a blog by Google Webmaster tools. I don’t check my pageviews anymore, but it helpfully let me know my database was inaccessible a few days ago. I tweaked a few settings…

Alpha

Max is doing surprisingly well. I say this because just a week ago, we were having the “Quality of Life” discussion, as barely moved for three days and we were carrying him outside to do his business. This post was…

Forty-two years of me!

I did this for the pets this year so I had to humiliate myself in the same way, right? So yeah. Forty-two, aka my twenty-first (times two) birthday. That makes me a senior citizen in Internet years, doesn’t it? Today…

Friday (okay Saturday) Five: Usage

Happy Saturday! It’s April 5th. Even as the years are peeled off of my life’s calendar, I will always remember this day with a warm smile and a wish that all involved parties are doing well and living authentically. Yesterday…

Throwback Thursday: High school bowling

Not purely new content, as it was originally on Facebook. But behold the high school bowler. Are high school yearbooks still printed in black and white? Do they still deliver them via stagecoach? We had a work bowling party last…

Will you still need me, will you still feed me…

Dear 2003-era diary, What a week it’s been. I was sad because a coworker left. Then I was snubbed by someone. Pretty obviously, too. And then there was a presentation at work put on by our outgoing group of college…

The Blues

I. Am. So. Blue. Why? Here’s the list: 1) My feet hurt, but only after extended periods of being off of them. Such as in the mornings when I wake up or … every time I get up at work,…

Five years away from always having my right blinker on

Of all the things I miss about being younger, number one will always be the ability to wear trashy heels without feeling mangled after an hour. Number two is the confidence I used to have while driving. Today I had…

A lady looks at 40

I started this blog when I was 30. Today I turn 40. (zomg!) Forty laughs harder than thirty. Forty is rounder than thirty. Forty is so very much wiser than thirty. And forty is happier than thirty. Today my coworkers…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
