Beware the Dogs of March.

Ollie and Murphy on my yoga mat.

Actually, you don’t need to beware. They’re pretty friendly and snuggly. Ollie and Murphy are absolute pleasures to have around. And they are ALWAYS around Ollie has had a coughing issue off and on for a year now. The cough…

Angry Man Farm 2021 – The beginning

Like many of the things 2020 brought us, last year’s garden adventure was a bust. The squirrels (possibly a raccoon?) ate almost all of the corn before it fully ripened. Our herbs were hampered by a very late frost and…

Friday 5: Twelve Months

graphic that says no photos, just words

HI! This post is dark and sad and angry, okay? So if that would upset you (looks at family) maybe you should come back in a few days when I post pictures of my little seedlings, okay? If you’re here…

Last year I subtitled this post “Books in the time of Coronavirus Part1” and look at us one year later. Still a mess but closer to herd immunity due to vaccines and general human carelessness! Writers & Lovers – Lily…

Jewelry Storage Redo

When we moved into the house on Literary Lane five years ago I had envisioned storing my jewelry on top of my dresser in open displays and on cute, quirky dishes and bowls. Everything in front of me. So boho,…

Friday 5: Just Vegging

Happy Friday! Today is my half-birthday. Huzzah huzzah. I don’t celebrate it but I’ve mentally observed it since I was a kid. This year I marked it by going to the doctor’s office to have my left ear looked at…

February 2021 Extras

Here are some photos and thoughts from February that were a little thin for their own posts.

Listening to: DMB LIVE TRAX

DMB’s new stuff is good (although I do miss the violin) but there is something about the early playlists that bring me back to warm, hopeful summers. This is the YouTube playlist of the entire album, recorded at a concert…

Friday 5: A Clubhouse Ain’t Nothing but a Sandwich

Guess what I did today? I was supposed to receive the first jab last week but the winter storm postponed my appointment until today. Even though I did not jump the line (I have moderate asthma and of course the…

Murphy, February 2021

Some things about Murphy that I want to remember: He has a very loud bark but is not brave. He has little to no object permanence. If I put his toys in a basket, it’s like I tossed them into…

Learning How to Study Again

a text book and notebook on a kitchen table with sunlight streaming in

Last summer I had a crazy idea — I decided to sit for a professional exam that, if I passed, would certify me as an association executive. I’d have initials after my name on LinkedIn! I am already an association…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

the wombsday clock graphic with two teal haired women in white rockers. It has reached 12 months and there are teal and white stars all over the graphic.
Well, that happened.
