Christmas Roundup!

December was a sugar-coated whirlwind of activities that didn’t let up until the 26th, which begins WM and I lovingly call … Sloth Week. Schools are closed and TNP is closed until January 2. That leaves us here in the…

Thanksgiving wrapup

It’s the holiday season, mofos! More importantly there’s only about 3 weeks until the sunshine starts coming back into my life so cheers to that. This year we had Thanksgiving at my cousin S’s house and I was asked to…

Friday 5: How About a Knuckle Sandwich?

Happy Friday! It was a busy week, and blogging got away from me. Sunday was Mother’s Day and I took Mom to the Phillies game. After an hour rain delay, the game started and was a lot of fun. And…

Farewell 2017, ya filthy animal

I very, VERY easily could rip into this absolute dumpster-fire of a year. Not only a year, but a “season” that started in November of 2015 and has kept on giving. But no, no. Good things happened this year, and…

Christmas 2017

I kinda whiffed on Christmas this year. While I started planning in October as usual, this year I: > Didn’t bake a lot of cookies at all, and the ones I did make weren’t all that great. > Bought my…

Currently, exhausted homeowner edition

Reading Al Franken, Giant of the Senate. I’m enjoying his outsider’s perspective on running for a Senate seat and his experiences working in DC. I was inspired to switch my party affiliation to the Democrats, but then Donna Brazile had…

Memorial Day weekend wrap-up

Happy Memorial Day, which is a day we set aside to honor those lost in military service to our country but instead everyone posts pictures of their living veteran relatives or their dead relatives who were veterans. It makes my…

Currently, mid-April edition

Eating pounds of Easter bread that I baked this weekend. I am just a load of carbs, and I didn’t even have any Easter candy. Waiting for our grass out front to grow. We seeded it 10 hours ago and…

Candle centerpieces

Two years ago, a friend of mine shared a Christmas centerpiece on Facebook. It was comprised of a battery-operated pillar candle in a glass jar surrounded by peppermint candies. I pinned it here. While I couldn’t find green peppermints, I…

The favorite gift I gave this Christmas

Wherever you are, I hope it’s warmer than here. It was 11 degrees when I woke up, and it’s not rising out of the 20s until tomorrow morning. But the wind chill drops the temperature down to the negatives. I…

My ceramic Christmas tree

I received a lot of fantastic gifts for Christmas (Alex and Ani! A terrarium! Cashmere hat & gloves!), but I want to spotlight one in particular. When I was young, every single house I knew had a ceramic Christmas tree….

Merry Christmas from the Dee-luxe Apartment in the Sky!

This was taped to the door of the mailroom downstairs. (language, bad spelling) Mind you, I had a fall wreath stolen off of our door last year. While we did patrol the building looking for it, wishing cancer on someone…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
