Open letter

Dear DumDum, You have Pilates on Monday nights, remember? Of course you didn’t. You didn’t remember until Monday at 7:45 (class started at 7:15) when you were all curled up on the sofa with a sleeping dog at your feet….

Doin’ that little East Coast Fling..

I added Boyz II Men’s MotownPhilly to my workout list. I still remember the thrill I had when I first saw the video and saw them singing and dancing infront of lots of great Philly locations. (And Genos..not Pats) Today…

Tales from the treadmill

Today while walking/jogging/wheezing at the YMCA, I watched an infomercial on the television for the Total Gym. Having been suckered in by these ads before, I had no interest in the product. Instead, I ogled Christie Brinkley. When I was…

Corey Haim

Dammit! I typed out a HUUUUGE post, and through some freaky keystroke, lost it all. (sigh) Wt: Scale kept fluctuating between 157.0 (+1.5) and 155.2 (-.3). But I’m not losing hope. Breakfast: Quaker Oatmeal Bowl. I discovered that it’s better…

a momentary victory at the gym

7:22 am. Guess from where I just returned? The gym. Yes, the gym! I slapped a Destiny’s Child CD in the player and did 17 minutes on the elliptical and far fewer pullups than I used to. But it’s a…

omigawd, it’s horrible out.

omigawd, it’s horrible out. Not treacherous, but cold and wet. It’s hailing right now. I called the YMCA to see if they were still open, just to be sure. They were. Crud. So I drove to the Y and sat…

New Year’s Eve

I ache from working out last night. Very sleepy too. I don’t know how I’ll hang in until after midnight. If I don’t take a lunch, I can leave at 1:00 and nap until 5:00. I think I’ll try out…

Just got back from the gym

Just got back from the gym and I’m not dead. That’s a good thing. I went 23.32 minutes on the dastardly elliptical machine and did 10 chinups. I will be svelte this summer. Resisted the urge to top off workout…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
