Today we unpacked the last of the boxes. There are a few more things to hang but the place finally looks and feels like home. And that feels really good. I'll share some more pics eventually, but I wanted to share one of the things I'm thrilled about: my new spot dedicated solely to jewelry making. That was my original small computer desk from my 2006 move, and the tulip print was purchased back then as well to add some warmth to a cold and lonely white wall. The daisy photo is from ...
Movin' on … over
So when you think about stressful life events, I offer you my 2012 for consideration. New job? Started last month. Getting Married? Julyish* Turning 40? September. Let's add a move to the mix, shall we? The people in the apartment next door moved out in November. We were sad to see them go because not only were they very nice, but they had the best screaming fights I'd ever heard. The drama! It was very entertaining. When people move out, the management redoes the paint, redoes the ...

One man's trash is LadyGypsy's treasure
I was walking back to my apartment yesterday after checking the mail downstairs (I forgot yesterday was Sunday.) when I noticed that someone was moving out. That person was leaving a bunch of possessions at the "trash room" door. One of which was a 7-foot tall white bookcase with adjustable shelves. White. Oo! Before I could think about it, I dragged that bad boy back to my lair. It was assembled hastily, and wasn't perfectly squared. But it almost perfectly matched my existing set. I found ...
Come and knock on my door!
I've been waiting for you... I wanted to give you a bitty update on where the apartment stands. I mentioned before that it's starting to look like a home. I'm actually proud of my little living room/kitchen now. (Bedroom's still pretty Spartan. I'll focus on that next) So..welcome! Wait...something's eerie here... Eeek! Not really my apt number, naturally. I'm a bit smarter than that. Not much, though, since any of us an be easily found online anymore. Birthday gift from the aunt and ...
Notsodark
I joined Netflix, which should make anybody who knows me laugh heartily. I'm not much of a movie person, but I figure I should start playing catchup. I signed up on Saturday of last week and my first DVD arrived on Tuesday. Sweet! My first choice is... The Mask of Zorro. A pick for a few reasons. I used to love the old Zorro TV show. Used to watch it all the time on the Disney Channel. I'm a sucker for good swordplay...swashbucklers...the like. It also has Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta ...
fakin a smile with your coffee to go
Damn..the last few days have been absolutely craptastic. Anyway... 'Zat is the state of the kitchen. Note the Cookies sign above the nook (yes, there will be a cookiecam 2006) and the red cutting mat and red paper towel holder. I'm so thrilled with how these red accents are starting to look! Misty is loving the red ottoman. There are catnip toys all over the place, so both she and Charlie are perpetually stoned. But more importantly, I now own a television. A HDTV, to be exact. Next I ...
