Who put the ram in the rama lama ding dong? That’s going to be in my head all night… Happy Friday! I worked from home today which means that this afternoon I worked from the patio chair in the back…

This was going to be the photo for yesterday’s Show Us Your Books post. Dramatically exhausted Ollie never fails to please!

Show us your books: May 2018

I was a voracious reader as a child. Magazines, cereal boxes, and any book I could get my hands on. And then I entered high school. Being forced to read the assigned books crushed the love of reading right out…

Friday 5: Minding your Peeves and Qs

Happy Friday! You’re reading the blog of the only person in South Jersey who is thrilled that it’s been in the high 80s the last few days. I’ve been in shorts and tank tops, drinking Sam Adams Summer Ale, and…

Travel: Austin, Texas!

Remember the Big!Work!Project! that consumed an entire year-and-a-half of my life? (You: YES KIM YOU WON’T STOP TALKING ABOUT IT.) It was a large-scale software implementation at our organization – it’s a brand new system that lets us take better…

Currently: crazy-ass western robot edition

Watching: Westworld. I didn’t see season 1 but read the recaps. As a long-time player of MMORPGs, I appreciate the game references and the min/maxxing effort of the Man in Black. Digging: through dirt, still pulling dandelions. Next year I…

Friday 5: Know when to fold ’em

Hello neglected blog! It’s been a little busy around here, plus at nights I’ve had a sick Ollie snuggling on my lap leaving me no room for my Surface. I used to feel guilty but hey…my blog, my rules! Ollie…

Currently, pain-in-the-arms lawn version

Watching: Recorded episodes of New Japan Pro Wrestling. Don’t judge. Earlier I was watching birds at my new bird feeder that we put up in front of the house. (Alas, I really don’t want Murphy snatching birds out of the…

Happy Friday, happy Friday the 13th and happy birthday to my sister-in-law! I returned from Austin yesterday with a brain full of knowledge, a belly full of BBQ, and a phone full of photos. It was a FANTASTIC trip and…

Show us your books: April 2018

Ollie, snoozed

Ollie, the elder member of our Snore of Spaniels, demonstrates why I call the group a Snore. He’s here in WM’s chair, completely oblivious to me bumping around trying to clean things up. Sometimes he sleeps so deeply I have…

Written after kissing the cable to my house

Back online again! It turns out the problem I thought was solved here wasn’t solved, and our Comcast (I will never get used to “Xfinity”) service plonked yesterday morning, just as I was hooking up my laptop for my weekly…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
