Angry Man Farm 2019

I had a really good experience with my herb garden last year. I stuck with it and watered it every morning and weeded it every night and it worked. This year, Angry Man Farm is going BIGGER. You can tell…

Gratitude: 2019wk8

Sunday: I try a new bread recipe for the second time. It comes out of the oven with the perfect color. It crackles as it cools and makes the best toast I have ever tasted. Monday: Mom’s dog, Chip, has…

Love Your Pet day?

Yes, it’s a real-ish holiday. Like, shouldn’t that be every day? But, any excuse for pet pics I suppose. Ollie is 11 years old now and after a pretty crummy year medically, has rallied quite well. Lately, Murphy goes outside…

Life with Dogs

I’m pretty sure anyone with a dog or cat has been here… It took Ollie 10 years to learn to nudge a door open so I’ll let him have his victory.

Show us your Books: February 2019

Happy Show Us Your Books day! I’m off today so I get to actually write this on the day it’s due rather than be smart and cobble it together as I finish each book. Someday I’ll be smart. Today ……

The home office staff

I have the privilege of working from home one day a week, and being a former gamer with a former gamer’s large monitor makes it easy. But I couldn’t do it at all without my home office staff. This is…

I mean, Julie & Julia was a thing, right?

One of the books I read in January was Eleanor Roosevelt’s 1933 book “It’s Up to the Women” which was meant to rally the spirits of women during the Depression. One of the chapters featured a healthy yet frugal weekly…

My new desk!

After years of using an IKEA table as a desk, I decided that my fifth decade of life was a good enough as any to get myself an actual desk with drawers and storage. I mean I do work from…

Old Lady Russell buys glasses the new-fangled way

I bought new glasses last May and although I really do like them, I wanted something a bit more modern and distinctly different than the pair before. This time I was smart at Lenscrafters and took a photo of my…

Fit Journal – February 2019

I’m taking an online class to help me be accountable w/r/t fitness: physical and emotional. This is my monthly journal entry. Pencils down, January is OVAH! I made a lot of mini goals for January. Time to see how it…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
