I have now won three times in my six attempts. I am tired of writing. Words hurt. What's next? Permanently Shelved goes away for a month so that I can rehabilitate my right brain and enjoy the holidays. Then, since this is probably the best of my 3 attempts, I'll start editing it in January and put it out there to be read. me rest head now on soft thing...zzzzzzz ...
Thanksgiving and NaNoWriMo
Happy Post-Thanksgiving! We drove to Michigan to spend the holiday with WM's clan. Twelve and a half hours there and thirteen and a half hours back. Deep fried turkey was eaten, and Max and Ollie got to play with their two gigantic German Shepherd cousins. Incidentally, have you ever seen two German Shepherds be scared away by a snarly terrier the size of their tails? It's a funny sight. Plus I tried my first Tim Horton's coffee. So good. So darn good. Better than Starbucks. Of course I ...
NaNoWriMo update!
We're slightly over the half-way mark, cookie crumbs, and it looks like I'm still ahead of the game by barely a day's worth of writing. I've yet to fall behind on my word count - a first for the six (!!) years I've done this. My success so far is due to hiding in a conference room every day at lunch and writing. I'm also writing on the train on the way to work. On the way home, I go through my crappy notes and see what scenes need to be written. I write a lot to get ahead during the week so that ...

NaNoWriMo update
(apologies to feedreader people...having WordPress issues for the first time EVER tonight.) Well gee whiz that election post was ...fun ... wasn't it? Let's get back to more...um...stupid things to talk about. NaNoWriMo update! My NaNoWriMo setup I cranked out over 2700 words tonight and earned my first green box on my NaNoWriMo Progress Report. And I'm only on plot point 6 of the fourteen that I've written out. That doesn't count the 6 or so I need after that in order for my intrepid ...
Can't post…writing…
I have a plot. I have protagonists. I have a setting, 2 corpses, and even some motive! Now I just need to find coffee pods for my new good friend and I'll be golden. Edited to add: I sketched out mini-profiles for 11 characters in my novel, and outlined my plot up to the climax. Writing's going much easier now that I've done that. Wish I did that last week. There's also a cool widget that tracks your word count against someone else's. A Word War, if you will. Now you can watch my Mom kick ...

NaNo NoMo!
WINNER!!!!30 days136 pages1,966 paragraphs6,191 lines50,117 wordsiI've accomplished nothing of this magnitude before. This story isn't fantastic at all. But it's my novel. And it's done. And it's my very own. And it's going to be tucked away until January, when I can take the time needed to polish it up into a shiny imperfect gem. ...
KiMeNowPl
That means, "Kill Me Now, Please." My NaNo novel is at 44097 words, and I can't write any more tonight.I've written over 7600 words in the last two days, and to finish by midnight 11/30, I'll have to do 2952 words tomorrow and Tuesday. In reality, I feel as if I can finish tomorrow after work. It's the home stretch, cats and kittens. In other odd developments, I'm not worried about work tomorrow in the least. If you take into account the fact that when I DO worry about work, everything turns out ...
Black Friday, 2004
We arrived at Sears at 5:45 for its 6:00am opening...the prize was a cherished $10 gift card given to the first 200 people. The line snaked around the corner of the building. We were hopeful, but alas, we arrived too late.Other stores hit so far:Strawbridge's (Moorestown)Rack Room shoes (remind me to tell you about this)JC Penneys (missed getting the free Mickey Mouse snowglobe)Strawbridge's (Cherry Hill -- my coat...sold out)Silver Diner (Me: Caramel French Toast and a hot cocoa - NOT the way ...
Nanowrimo Tumble Dry update
Update:My novel, Tumble Dry is now at 30,355 words. To finish by midnight on 11/30, I need to write 2455 words a day. I'm going to shoot for 2500 - 3000 since I want to cushion a bit to account for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Also, to make me triple-paranoid going into work tomorrow, I realized that I had a mini-project, really just an emailed list of site-related things, due on Friday. I delegated that work off, so hopefully tomorrow morning, it'll be done and I can send it in right away with ...
