Snowy Days

second story shot of the garden beds covered in snow

One of the good things about working remotely is that we don’t have to worry about commuting to and from work through snowy weather. Not leaving when it’s dark and returning when it’s dark means we can enjoy the views….

Wordy Wednesday

This means that I have to dress in layers for work. When I get into work, it’ll be cold. Our building is older and doesn’t adjust well to changes in temperature. Then at around 10am, someone will meander by, unlock…

There's something wrong with my weather app

Let’s see… Today: raining. Blah, but expected. Tomorrow: Partly sunny. Okay. Sunday: Sunny. Great! Monday: Cloudy. Eh. Tuesday: Rain. Good. If not the 823 mushrooms that have sprouted around our apartment will surely die. Saturday. Saturday…what’s that? No. Can’t be…..

Crapslush

It’s what I call those winter storms where you have a layer of ice on top of a layer of slush on the ground. It’s that type of winter storm that forces you to crack open your car before going…

I hate you, weather.com

Dear weather.com, I checked you tonight to see about the newest stupid winter crapslush storm that’s headed our way and what do you do to me? THIS. Firstly, as all of the Disney snobs will say, it’s “Walt Disney World.”…

Hurricaning

The really great news is that the non-blogable issue we’re here for is righting itself. 🙂 The great news is that Hurricane Dennis spared this region of “The South.” Good. I hate weather. The “meh” news is that Dennis is…

March 26, 2004

As you can probably tell, I lazed about in bed too long today and didn’t have a chance to blog. After a brutally chilly week, spring has arrived! It was in the 60s today, and I ate lunch (my subway…

Weekend round-up

Here’s the quicky weekend round-up. Friday: Got home at six-ish. David and I went to Chez Elena Wu for dinner and then to the Ritz to see “Bad Santa.” Which was my pick. That movie was a riot! Totally inappropriate…

omigawd, it’s horrible out.

omigawd, it’s horrible out. Not treacherous, but cold and wet. It’s hailing right now. I called the YMCA to see if they were still open, just to be sure. They were. Crud. So I drove to the Y and sat…

RealizationsI’ve been having a devil of a time getting out of bed in the mornings lately. Today, I began to realize why. Reason 1: Have you ever heard of the summer-camp phenonmenon of putting a sleeping camper’s hand into a…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
