Sugar, Sugar

The Archies, animated version. Archie and Reggie are on guitar, Veronica is playing the keyboard, Jughead on drums, Betty is killing it on the tambourine and Hot Dog (the dog) is conducting.

I was never a comic book kid EXCEPT for Archie. I loved Riverdale High as much as I loved Rydell High, and my actual high school years were quite the disappointment, comparatively. No carnivals, no diners where the entire school…

Abundance, by the book (of stamps)

an assortment of US postage stamps. There are Christmas, baby animal, and wildflower stamps for regular postage, international stamps, and a roll of postcard stamps

As a 1980s teenager I was part of a penpal ring. We’d send letters, stickers, and slam books. I had loads of stationery, construction paper, and return address labels purchased from the Current Catalog which amazingly still exists today! But…

A tiny time capsule

Top: four coins, a 50cent piece, a dollar coin, and two quarters. Bottom: a 2 dollar bill. All are from the 1976 bicentennial series.

Forty-nine years ago my grandmother slid some treasures into envelopes for her three granddaughters. (Her only grandson wasn’t born yet and thusly missed out.) She gave the envelope to my mother for safekeeping until we got older. For years Mom…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

the wombsday clock graphic with two teal haired women in white rockers. It has reached 12 months and there are teal and white stars all over the graphic.
Well, that happened.
