an organic post

Angie??? GAHH!!! Noooooooooo! After scrubbing approximately a half-inch of wax off of my apple this morning I decided that tonight I’d go by Whole Foods and see about that organic food the hippies talk about. It was…pretty interesting. As soon…

Holy crap!

In my small slice of the world, we’ve become accustomed to ignoring weather forecasts. Especially the ones that trumpet “Snow! Snow! Snow! We’re all going to die under the weight of it! Head for the hills!” Hence, I went into…

Baby, it’s cold outside

Tonight my Weatherpixie says 19 degrees. I hate the cold, but to be fair, this is the first REALLY cold day we’ve had this winter. The Weatherpixie looks all composed and warm in a tiny black jacket. Her real life…

Slacker

Slacker Home sick today. Usually, I’d feel guilty, but the last sick day I took (according to my blog) was in August, and April before that. That’s the good thing about having a blog. I can look these things up!…

NaNoWriMo update: 4117 words written. I’m still behind the curve, but catching up. Last night’s torrential rains kept most of the NaNos away from Starbucks, but I did meet one other writer and we had a pleasant evening sipping hot…

Ch-ch-changes

I took Max out for his morning walk today. Autumn managed to creep into my life without a formal greeting — only the pleasant realization that she is here. My walks with Max have gone gradually from tank top to…

Does the Pope Pray?

Today I managed to escape from work only 30 minutes late. Driving home in the sunshine with my new (prescription) sunglasses on, windows rolled down, and Dave Matthews in the CD player (5 days left!) put me in a very…

How much is that doggie in the window?

This is what I see now when I come home from work. Now he could just be looking out the window at the assorted fauna here in Stepford but I want to flatter myself and think he knows when to…

Things I have discovered in my first month of homeownership

We use THAT much water? Pergo + feet in socks = fun! Too much exposure to yellow and blue plaid wallpaper causes homicidal tendencies Recycling, though beneficial, is a huge pain in the ass. Pergo + hyperactive small dog =…

Catching up

Catching up (warning: long!)I could lie to you and say I didn’t blog for a week out of respect for President Reagan, but that’d be a big fat lie. Being that I prefer small white lies instead, I’ll tell the…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
