Happy Friday, which is also National Gardening Day and National Ex-Spouse Day. Both of which I have. :) I took off yesterday and today to bum around the house which turned into cleaning the yard, spraying weeds, and spontaneously painting the living room, which has mostly been WM's job. The color is one that's been our go-to for years, Glidden Whispering Wheat. It's unseasonably warm here (not complaining) so I took the tomato, pepper, and basil seedlings out of the garage into the ...
Saturday in Pictures – 2
We have new neighbors in our backyard. They have built a home which is suspended from the underside of our picnic table umbrella. Because this is a great place to raise kids, it looks to me like they're about bring about 10 of them into the world soon enough. Unfortunately for the bees, we here at Chez LadyGypsy aren't feeling very neighborly. We're going to run them out of the neighborhood. But sheesh....how do we do this without receiving ample amounts of pain? Google will know...Google ...
Tired.Of.Work
Three days at corporate last week. Three days in AC sandwiching an 8.5 hour meeting this week. Four days away next week. Work waiting for me on the laptop upstairs once I drag my carcass up to bed. I'm plumb burnt out. I don't CARE about my job right now. I think it's because if I were in school...summer vacation would be starting today. There. I've said it. Felt good too. As long as I'm not disclosing any financials...I can say that my job is challenging at times, right? Stressy? And ...
Insulting!
I've been dumped. I've been played. I even was dateless for my Junior Prom. But today I've reached a new low. I was stood up by the Orkin Man. *sob* ...
Clear!
Blog's in need of CPR. Lots going on, but I can't write about the angst because...well... (whispers) People at work read my blog. A peril of bragging about your personal website, I s'pose. Anywho, today Mom&I went to the Philadelphia Art Museum to see the Dali exhibit. Except that the exhibition was sold out...and is until 5/16 apparently. I would have checked it online, but the page was down. So we ended up seeing the non-Dali works. No biggie. But I really wanted to see some messed-up ...
tick tick boom!
(phone rings at 11:45ish. I answer. Brother.) Me: 'Lo? J: Hey! It's me! How're you? Me: (realizing no GOOD calls come at 11:45pm) Sleepy? J: Okay. I got a call from {Neighbor, who is a friend of his}. He says he smells gas in his driveway and it smells like it's coming from your house. Me: Okay. J: He's calling the gas company, and he told me to tell you. Me: Okay. J: Okay? Me: Yeah. G'night. I survey the house and take sniff tests. Catbox. Lemon slices. I sniff around the basement, where our ...
Oh by gosh by golly
It's been a while, so I wanted to show you what we've been doing here at Chez LadyGypsy whilst I've been not blogging and not baking. We have a guest room! It's a spiffy, relaxing blue room, with a few whimsical touches that you KNOW a guest room of ours has to have. It's all ready for Thor's parents. They arrive on Thursday. We have a few empty white frames to fill yet. I'm considering printing out some of the snaps I took of us working on the darn room. You know, to make the guests feel ...
Paperback writer
Paperback writerYeesh...that cold was tough. It seems like the older I get, the fewer times I get sick, but the harder I get hit by those colds. I stayed home from work on Friday as well, making me double-paranoid going into work tomorrow. But can't stay home forever, and I really don't want to. There's a lot to tackle, and now that my head is pain-free and my fever is gone, I know how to tackle them.Even more of a down side (would that be a further down side?) is that I missed three nights of ...
It’s a 5:00 world!
Another week survived, and not much new to report on the homefront other than: I'm being 75% good with the healthy eating plan. Thor has torn down all of the first layer of wallpaper in the guest room, and a lot of the 2nd layer. The 2nd layer is actually paper based wallpaper (present day wallpaper is vinyl-based) and GLUED DIRECTLY TO THE WALL. We have a bunny nest in the backyard somewhere...I saw two baby bunnies (eyes closed, very little hair, teeny ears the size of my pinky tip) rolling ...
The deed is done
The deed is done! (but won't be processed by the county for 6-8 weeks)Ladies and Gentlemen, I present...T-----e Terrace! The mortgage signing (Friday, 5/14) went very smoothly. I took pictures (naturally), and our enthusiasm was only tempered by the sadness of the sellers. They were the original owners of the house, and after 40-odd years, they were reluctant to move out. They planted the two Apple trees that tower over our yard. Mr. Seller's hand shook as he signed the papers. Mrs. Seller ...
