What I’m listening to: Tapestry

graphic that says no photos, just words

As the days become shorter I find myself listening to music that can be described as the soundtrack of my childhood. It’s warm and comforting. This week I listened to Carole King’s Tapestry album. I’ve heard many of the songs…

Friday Movie Night, part II

We are still watching movies on Friday nights with friends. A few of them collaborated to build a bot on our Discord server that allows us to nominate movies, and on Friday afternoon, it creates a poll with 3 random…

Show Us Your Books – October 2020

I miss commuting to my job in the city for many reasons, but one of them is the enforced reading time. My commute consisted of a 26 minute train ride, and a 15 minute shuttle ride in the morning, and…

My new planner

My planner journey has taken me through every fad imaginable. I had a Palm Pilot back in the day and I loved it. In 2016 and 2017 I went down the washi-tape-lined path of paper planners. In 2018-2019 I barely…

Popcorn, Please!

Murphy and Ollie looking upward

I have created not one, but two popcorn-loving monsters. This is my view while carrying a bowl of freshly-popped popcorn to my desk. Ollie’s vision is not good, but his nose knows exactly where the bowl is. Because this is…

Covid-19 journal – October 2020

graphic that says no photos, just words

This isn’t a very fleshed out post, but I have to record that Donald Trump and a good number of influential Republicans have tested positive for Covid-19, just about a month out from the election. On one hand, it’s not…

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

In the latest news from your favorite menopausal gamer, I bought Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout from the Steam store a little while ago and I’m hooked. Imagine Wipeout and Most Extreme Elimination Challenge as a videogame, played with 59 other…

September extras

Photos and thoughts from September that were a little thin for their own post. To my surprise and honor I was nominated to serve a term on the Board of Directors of an organization that I’ve been a member of…

This beat cha-ching like money

It should come as no surprise to ANYBODY who has known me for even the slightest bit that I love me some boy bands. Always have, always will. If you haven’t heard of BTS before, they are a K-Pop band…

State of the Wardrobe

My wardrobe has two distinctly different styles: WORK (biz casual, blazers, fancy sweaters, dresses, jeans), or SLOB (fleece, elastic, hoods). Now that I’m working from home until at least January I’m trying to upgrade SLOB to include comfortable clothing that…

Pouring one out for RBG

On Friday night, we learned of the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She’s best known for being a liberal justice, but she was also a hell of a trailblazer. She was only one of 9 people in…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
