Show us your books: February 2018

Happy birthday, Mom! I’m back on the reading train, because I’m back to reading on the train. I spend 26 minutes on a train and 10 minutes on a shuttle, twice a workday. Last year I was so mentally exhausted…

Friday 5: Rockit

Happy Saturday! I was going to write this last night but we watched the Olympics Opening Ceremonies instead. It was amazing and the five little kids who carried the artistic storyline were adorable! This weekend I have nothing planned but…

The Alma Mater

I mentioned before that WM is taking grad school classes — he’s going to my alma mater, Rowan University*. On Saturday, we took a trip to the University’s library so WM could take some books out for his term paper….

Currently: Super Bowl edition

Watching: The Super Bowl. I know. I’m not an Eagles fan, or really a football fan in general (I’m more a hockey/baseball person) but I am watching the hometown team VERY anxiously. For my family, my friends, my pretty city…

Friday 5: Groundhog Day

Happy Friday! I worked a full five-day workweek! Woooo! Go me and my white-collar self. I worked from home today with my snore of spaniels. I’ll be home Monday too. This work from home thing? Niiiiice. Yesterday at work we…

Home Alone

Have I mentioned that WM is in grad school at my old alma mater, Rowan? This semester he’s taking classes on Tuesday and Thursday nights, which means I fend for myself. What this night should have looked like: I leave…

Breathing love in and breathing love out

I’m still trucking along with my TRUE – 30 Days of Yoga program by Yoga With Adriene. As a sedentary human, it’s hard for me to commit to moving every day for a month. But I’m still here. And barring…

Watching: THE 2018 ROYAL RUMBLE! It’s in Philadelphia this year, and I wanted to go but I missed when tickets went on sale (Last summer was A SUMMER) and they were very expensive anyway. As a result, I’m watching it…

Friday 5: Returns

I think this was my first 5-day workweek of the year and I NAILED IT. I kid, I’m exhausted. Philadelphia is jacked up because the Eagles are going to the Super Bowl. I’m not a fan of the organization or…

La Ratatouille

“Your last Christmas gift came!” WM exclaimed as I came home from work one day last week. He offered me a large, flat cardboard box. I opened it and smiled. He hung it up outside of the kitchen. For the…

Safe, loved, and warm in 2018

I promised myself on my birthday that I would do more to make sure my neighbors (here in NJ and in the USA) can be safe, loved and warm. Here’s how I’m trying to do that in 2018. 1. I…

Winter continues to blow

Another tiny burst of snow, which will melt this afternoon and refreeze tonight and try to kill us all. I’m just feeling better from the fall I took down my own front steps last week. 131 days until Memorial Day.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
