Good and Meh 2023 Week 38

murphy, sitting in my office chair staring at my monitor

Good: Tuesday: Ill effects of the Covid booster were completely gone. Wednesday: It was our monthly in-office day. I went to my Fancy Coffee Friday spot for the first time in years and the coffee was delicious. Twelve of us went to the bar across the street afterwards - I know some people don't like socializing with coworkers, but some still do. Thursday: On 9/13 I began a short morning yoga routine. Today was the first day I completed it without taking a breakFriday: First day of a ...

Friday 5: Don’t tip the boat over

friday, september 22

Happy Friday, friends! It's also National Ice Cream Cone Day, Car Free Day (I take public transit at every opportunity, but I also think the car free movement can be unrealistic) and American Business Woman's Day. I'm observing that day by being off from work today and Monday to burn off the last of the PTO I can't carry over to TNP's next fiscal year, which starts October 1. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday. So today I made sure to get the outdoor chores finished. I mowed ...

Assembling the LEGO succulents

lego botanical succulent kit

One of my birthday gifts was the LEGO Botanical Collections succulents kit. Plants I can't kill? Futzy little bricks? Sign me up! And all together! It took me about 2 and a half hours to complete, with breaks for laundry. I loved this set and I think it’s perfect if you can’t sit for a few hours to do it - you can build one plant at a time and it’s a good hit of instant gratification. Good news! If you’re a regular reader but forget to check in, you can subscribe to a once-a-week ...

Good and Meh 2023: Week 37

Tall trees, green grass, walking path, a cloudless sky

Good Things: Monday: Was walking Murphy and saw Mom drive by on the way to an appointment. She pulled over and gave a Very Good Boy some scritches and smooches.Thursday: Picked a gorgeous, juicy tomato from the garden. It hasn't been the abundant year I wanted, but the crops we're getting are delicious. Friday: We watched Grease 2 for Movie Night. Saturday: It was the type of day I call "golden" - the sun takes on a different tone of light through the year and during August-September it is ...

Friday 5: Happy hour

friday, september 15

Oh my geez, it's cliched but TGIF. I mentally limped toward the finish line this week. If you don't mind, I'm skipping right to the Friday 5 this week. The theme is Happy hour and I'm here for that! I'm going to relax a bit so I can be alive for movie night tonight. Because my birthday was, er, recent, I got to pick the movies that went into the poll for tonight's movie night. Looks like it's going to be Grease 2, featuring the best bowling-themed song ever. ...

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
