Not the Biggest Loser

I have no idea how this happened (okay I do) but Charlie’s now 30 lbs. Not too sure how to deal with this, as he, Misty, and Max share the same bowl of food.* He’s not much of an exerciser,…

The cat days of summer

Congrats Joe from Stratford! I was at Home Depot! The store’s playlist really boggled my mind. I thought that a home improvement store would have more…manly…music. (No offense to the Wandering Minstrel or any other guy who digs girly power…

Killer playlist – 'pop' quiz

I was in a certain type of retail store this weekend. Here are a few of the songs I heard played on the overhead system: “All By Myself” – Eric Carmen “Coming out of the Dark” – Gloria Estefan “Have…

RIP, Nancy and Daniel Benoit

It’s really hard to handle the fact that a guy I thought was a stand-up guy through my (admittedly very limited) exposure to him turned out to be a complete tool. An evil, murderous tool. The comments to last post…

RIP, Chris Benoit

A few years back, there were a bunch of toys left over from a photo shoot for the cover of a Holiday Gift guide. Most were given to charity. Some of the less giftable toys were left over. The coordinator…

Guerilla advertising

There is an ad on my banana. I guess that the banana supplier is being paid off by “Big Ice Cream Topping.”

Root, root root for the Phillies

I’m not a fan of inter-league baseball. Keep those wimpy non-batting American League pitchers where they belong, please, until the World Series. Anyway, there were only 3 days this year when the Philadelphia Phillies (currently .514 and my home team)…

See ya later, Azeroth

As of today, I am no longer a World of Warcraft player. (pauses for the appropriate gasp) This’ll mark the first day since 2/14/2001 that I don’t subscribe to one (or more) Massive multiplayer online role-playing game. I suppose part…

Dear Sir Paul

I know you’re having a tough time of it lately, with the divorce and the child custody issues and turning 65. But…what are you “going for” with this promo photo? Cutesy-wutsey insecure boy? It’s cold and the wolves are after…

RIP, Mr. Wizard

I watched Mr. Wizard on Nickelodeon when I was a kid in the 80s – later when I learned that he had a TV show in the 50s doing the same thing, I was amazed that my parents probably watched…

May 2007 LGN stats and Second Saturday

Figured I’d start screenshotting this, since my continued writing of these terms are most likely skewing the search engines. May 2007 brought 30,070 page views (+80.8% to last year) /15,900 visits (+56.6% to last year) to my little web abode….

an evening with Grey's Anatomy

Isn’t it grand to get a sterling letter of recommendation from an ex-husband? Divorce can be done right. Also, commenters? I love you all. Anyway, I was sleepless last night so I watched the last episode of Season 2 of…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
