Yoga with Adriene…and Dogs

For the past few years I've kicked off the year by doing Yoga With Adriene's 30 Days of Yoga program. Last year was the first year that I gave up early - I was sick from Christmas Eve through the end of January and I didn't have the stamina or lungpower to make it through. It wasn't COVID. But it certainly sounds suspicious! This year's theme is Breath and and so far, so good! Every year the first week is pretty rough and every year I can't help but mentally kick myself because if I ...

Currently, procrastination edition

Updating: Blog header, Blog Facebook Page image, colors, etc. Delaying: Yoga. I'll give it to you straight, Yoga with Adriene is killing me with this year's 30 Day program. It seems harder and longer (TWSS) than previous years. I skipped Day 2 so I'm a day behind. My strategy is "give it one more day." Hoping to "one more day" myself 'til the end. Not sweating: Because I'm back on my beloved "Work from Home Monday" schedule. It's nice on a Sunday night knowing I can sweatpant my way ...

Breathing love in and breathing love out

I'm still trucking along with my TRUE - 30 Days of Yoga program by Yoga With Adriene. As a sedentary human, it's hard for me to commit to moving every day for a month. But I'm still here. And barring injury, the end of the 30 days is near! I feel like my arms are made of warm dough and are twenty feet long. All of these videos are free on Youtube just in case you want orangutan arms too! Most nights I even have a yoga buddy. ...

Currently, deep freeze edition

It's 17 degrees out, which is actually warmer than it's been. We went to MOD Pizza for lunch, marking the first time I left the house in days. Leave it to food to draw me out of my cocoon of warmth. I think it's going to be in the 30s this week so I'm about to break out my flipflops. Just kidding. I'm in 2 layers of socks until March. Watching: Home Town on HGTV. Y'all*, I have fallen hard for this show. I saw the first episode a while back and it didn't grab me. I'm glad I gave it a ...

Yoga with Adriene Find What Feels Good Roadshow – Philadelphia

For almost 2 years, I've been practicing yoga with the Yoga with Adriene videos on Youtube. I LOOOOOOOOVE them because I can practice in my home, for free, whenever I want. When Adriene announced that she was taking her Find What Feels Good Roadshow to Philadephia, I screamed SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY! Which is how I found myself at the Fillmore in Philadelphia on a sunny September Monday. I won't lie, I was apprehensive. I went there on my own and didn't know anyone. Also, the class ...

Five years!

Today is my FIVE YEAR anniversary at TNP, which really isn't The New Place at all anymore. Not so shabby for someone who thought she'd be fired before her first year was done. It's a good place to work, and has allowed me to travel to new places and learn new things. I'm doing great things with Excel, and I'm even doing a bit of SQL work on our database! (I also received $300 in gift cards, which will be put aside for future travel.) In unrelated news, I'm 23 days through the Yoga with ...

dark

Dark It gets dark so early now. I have yoga at 8, but I don't want to go. I haven't ever really wanted to go. But I do anyway. I don't like going out anymore. Seventeen days until I am "restored" to my maiden name, and although it's my choice, I can't help but think I'm being stripped of a name I am no longer deserving of. Which, technically, is completely true. Seventeen days until the signature I used to practice writing with great flourishes 10 years ago is no more. Seventeen days ...

My relaunch

Yes, I'm up very late. Why? Because I was out of work sick today and managed to snooze away a chunk of my afternoon. Actually, I've been sick for about 2 weeks straight - 2 different illnesses but consecutive sentences - and it finally all caught up to me today. Par for the course for my worst summer ever. I'm not feeling guilty about staying home either, but that may be because of my check-work-email-every-3-hours plan. I even responded to a few. But I'm awake (albeit tucked into bed with a ...

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
