Throwback Thursday: September 1985

September 1985. The bad hair choices begin… Isn’t this the hair every girl wants on their thirteenth birthday? Items of note: We are both wearing San Diego tee shirts, although we never visited there as kids. My grandfather lived there…

Throwback Thursday: July 1983

In this picture, I’m 10 years old and still torturing my family by making them watch me do magic. I was a HORRRRRRRRIIIIIIBLLLLLE magician. My hands were always too small for the tricks. Even the kid sized tricks like what…

Throwback Thursday: Winter, 1999

No date on the back of this photo, but I bought this sweatshirt while I was working at the Disney store. I started there in fall of 1998. The cut and color of my hair makes me think this was…

Throwback Thursday: December 1973

Rabbit rabbit! I’m glad it’s October because September well and truly sucked. Yuck. No date on the back of this one, but I’m positive it’s Christmas 1973. This is an actual Polaroid picture. For the younger readers, this is what…

Throwback Thursday: September 1979

Kids these days with their measly Throwback Thursday pictures from 2 years ago. “BAH!” I say. The date on the back of the photo says September 1979, so it was probably August. (Back in my day, film was sent away…

Throwback Thursday: Sometime in the late 90s/early 00s

The date on the back of this one is missing so your guess is as good as mine. I’m on one of those horse rides, and it looks to be in a gift shop. It could have been Virginia Beach,…

Throwback Thursday: Sixth grade dance

When I was a kid, our elementary school was Kindergarten through sixth grade, middle school was seventh and eighth grades (any longer there and I would have run away from home and joined the circus), and high school was ninth…

Throwback Thursday: 1988

A tiny primer for those who don’t remember printed photos from film cameras: your parents would buy a roll of film and it would stay in the camera until it was finished. Then if your parents had money, it would…

Throwback Thursday: My autograph book

This Thursday, I continue to plumb the depths of my memory box. I received this autograph book at the end of sixth grade, when we were about to graduate out of elementary school. That September, we’d be assimilated into the…

Throwback Thursday: The first Walt Disney World souvenir

In the spirit of Throwback Thursday, I’ve been digging through my memory box – a literal box – of things I’ve accumulated on my journey from miss to ma’am. I have a lot of Disney merchandise hanging around. From the…

Throwback Thursday – JCPenney Store 305

More Throwback Thursday memorabilia! This was my last name tag from my very first job. I worked at the JCPenney at Echelon Mall through college. I spent most of the time in the Catalog/Credit/Customer Service department where I learned how…

Throwback Thursday: TNP Interview 1

I know the spirit of Throwback Thursday is supposed to be old pictures of yourself, but I’ve been doing that for 11 years now, and if you’re looking for a catalog of my bad hair and wardrobe styling through the…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
