Home sick

I went to Savannah and came home with what turned into an ear infection and bronchitis!

I have pictures to share and stories to tell but for now I’m sleeping, watching You’ve Got Mail (my sick day tradition), and spending quality time with Halls cough drops.

It’s Nephew A’s FIFTH birthday (whaaaaaaaaaat?) and my plan is to sleep hard today so I can be human for some cake later. Definitely a shower first.

Home sick today. Usually, I’d feel guilty, but the last sick day I took (according to my blog) was in August, and April before that. That’s the good thing about having a blog. I can look these things up!

As I slept last night, I felt chilly and sweaty simultaneously, which brings the word fever to mind. Since my doctor, WebMD, says to stay home when you have a fever…home I stayed.

After I called out, I fell back asleep until 2:00ish. Max and Charlie stayed in bed with me. I guess Max knew I was off my game; when I woke up I found his favorite toy – a stuffed squeaky bone – on my chest. Maybe he thought it would make me feel better?

So here I am, on my sofa with tons of pillows, my pitcher of water, phone, laptop (duh!), December Martha Stewart Magazine, and a Chinese delivery menu within arms reach. I’m a happy sick girl!

And, if you go to Google, type in ladygypsy and hit the “I’m feeling lucky” button…you come here! 🙂 But, if you type in my real name, you come up with a Disney Trip Report that I wrote back in 1999. I was really big on LOL-ing then. Sorry about that.

Another sleepless Sunday night. I’m comforted by the fact that I slept VERY MUCH these last 3 days. But you know how I worry on Sunday nights. And now that I was sick on Friday and have to take off on Thursday, I’m doubly nervous.

Yesterday I did end up missing both Les Mis and Nicole’s 4th birthday party because I was still feeling achy. Today I got out to Target for a little bit (took every fiber of my being NOT to buy the Snagglepuss T-shirt) and it felt good.

It feels like Spring has arrived, although we’re supposed to get a smattering of snow tonight. The air is damp, but balmy, and I see little tulips starting to pop through the soil. And Spring is when we move into the house!

Currently, our house contract is in what’s called an attorney review period. We (and the seller) get 3 days within which we can talk to an attorney about the contract. We’re bound to the contract now, and can only get out if the attorney tells us it’s bad, or if the home inspection comes up horrible. We’re not going to have an attorney look at it. It’s a standard contract, and wasn’t hard to read and interpret. We’re also calling the mortgage guy tomorrow, and telling the Village apartments that we’re outta here come May. Or come what May. 😉
