thievery at the paper

By the way, much ‘love’ to the misanthrope who stole two of my Disney ornaments from our Christmas tree here at work. I had a set of 5 miniature Disney ornaments. Minnie and Pluto are gone. That just smacks of…

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! I’m blogging from my bed. Yes, my laptop (inspiron 5100) FINALLY came, and on the way home from work I purchased a broadband router and a notebook card. It took less than 10 minutes to set up,…

New Year’s Eve 2003

Yesterday was a slight improvement — was here only until 3:30. See, I’m a firm believer in an 8 hour workday. I’ll bust my arse to get it all done by quitting time. That’s why I get grumpy if I’m…

Christmas 2003 recap

Christmas is a snowflake that you watch fall slowly from the sky. For what seems like forever, you squint your eyes, crane your neck skyward and follow its erratic path. And as it gets closer to you, you become excited,…

December 24 – morning

It’s another Christmas Eve. And I’m here at work which wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t have much cooler thing to be doing. I enjoyed the Christmas lights on all the houses on the ride in to work today….

Here’s the quicky weekend round-up. Friday: Got home at six-ish. David and I went to Chez Elena Wu for dinner and then to the Ritz to see “Bad Santa.” Which was my pick. That movie was a riot! Totally inappropriate…

Harder to blog in the mornings

It’s getting harder and harder to blog in the mornings… Yes! I did go to yoga last night. Only 5 showed up, and after 3 weeks of NOT stretching, getting into pigeon pose was a challenge. Note: I cannot do…

Achey…Yesterday Mom and I completed almost 14 hours of Christmas shopping. We started out in the dark, and wrapped it up in the dark. Shopped in 3 different zip codes. Over 15 different stores. We kicked butt. More details (with…

Thanksgiving 2003

Thankful Happy Thanksgiving! What are you thankful for? Here’s my (not so short) list… I am thankful to have a loving husband who tolerates (and maybe appreciates?) my eccentricities, and my loving family for giving me those eccentricities. I am…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
