Stupid Beading Tricks: The Only Child bracelet

After I gave my coworkers the New Orleans Bracelets, I had a humorous encounter with a member f the business department, who was impressed with the bracelets and wanted one too. “I’m an only child!” she said. “So you have…

Stupid Beading Tricks: The New Orleans Bracelets

While in New Orleans, we found a shop in the French Quarter that sold strands of beads. No, not boob-flashing beads*, REAL beads! So I bought a string of fluorite because they were purple and green just like the many…

Moved

Today we unpacked the last of the boxes. There are a few more things to hang but the place finally looks and feels like home. And that feels really good. I’ll share some more pics eventually, but I wanted to…

The lovely Design Seeds

I love doing things that include color, but I’m not always great at choosing color palettes. Via Pinterest, I found a site called Design Seeds that is going to be a very close friend of mine from here on out….

Stupid Beading tricks – waiting for a yes

While I was waiting for TNP to give me the big “YES!” answer, I kept busy by making jewelry. For these, I felt like experimenting with hoops and drops instead of the usual “tight” earrings I come up with. And…

Engagement ring of the week

I decided to start making my own rings out of the wire and countless beads I own until I decide what I want. Here is this week’s version… Gold-tone copper wire and a group of Swarovski crystals = tacky holiday…

Stupid Beading Tricks: Organization

I have a lot of beading supplies these days. Enough to fill a plastic four drawer unit that sits next to my desk. But that’s not always practical when I’m working on one or two projects. I’m too lazy to…

Stupid beading tricks: Stretchy bracelets

My cousin’s kid had a birthday party last week. These kids and their birthdays. Due to my advanced age and non-momness I’m completely out of touch with what kids want anymore. Actually, the kids in my family don’t want for…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
