remembering the 80’s

Everyone has a song that immediately sends them back to teen years. As hokey the song is, it will always hold a place in your heart. Mine is Def Leppard’s “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” which was on the Hysteria…

very hungry again

Food intake for today: pint of milk, slice of pound cake (c/o Camille, who took a day out of her busy retirement to come and visit us all!), cream of broccoli soup, tall (which is really small) caramel macchiato. Looking…

Not as hungry

OK. Back to normal. I had tons of water (will be up all night) and a nice bowl of pasta w/tomatoes, basil, and garlic. Now I’m ever so sleepy. Thor’s still in bed, so I may take out some of…

hungry, I’m so hungry

Oh my LORD I am so hungry. I forgot how totally totally horrible the first day of a healthy eating plan diet can be. Listen, I had a really stressy day. Inconceivably stressy. And all I want is a cheesesteak….

The delayed roses and why I stopped reading Misbehaving.net

My Valentine roses came today. 1800flowers.com (evil evil evil) said that they weren’t delivered on Friday because of a traffic accident. By the time they got to the CP, it was after office hours. Riiiiiiiight. Anyway, I received a dozen…

a momentary victory at the gym

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

A plucky heroine and academically minded hero? A road trip to Key West? Optimism v pessimism?? Adults being adults and using their words to keep disagreements from lasting more than a few hours? Sign me up forever.

the wombsday clock graphic with two teal haired women in white rockers. It has reached 12 months and there are teal and white stars all over the graphic.
Well, that happened.
