Salad days

Believe it or not, I am still cooking chicken every Sunday for the week. And although fitness levels wax and wane, I credit these preplanned lunches for keeping me at about the same weight I was last year when I…

Friday 5: In your head! In your head!

Happy Friday. Today was one of my Summer Fridays off from work AND it was sunny AND THINGS are mildly under control so for the first time this summer, I went to the beach. A few years ago I went…

TBT: Miami Mice

My 14th birthday, in 1986. Before you pity me for attending middle school with my JCPenney perm (and what looks to be a butterfly clip on the left side), realize that I am wearing a shirt with a print of…

Currently, mid-week edition

A rare mid-week day off, to take care of THINGS. “After THINGS, I’m going to lie out in the yard and get some sun,” I said. “For it has been EVER so long since I’ve had a chance to soak…

Friday 5: Off balance

Happy Friday! Resolved: To start treating my body better, even when — no, ESPECIALLY WHEN — I’m under stress. I eat like crap and then I fall asleep early and wake up feeling like I never slept. I need better…

You can’t handle the (missing) tooth!

Here’s something good that happened in the last few weeks… Back in September of 2015 I bit into a cheesesteak spring roll (I love Philadelphia) at a lunch meeting with my manager and my tooth broke. Back in September 2015,…

Sunday 5: Let’s get physical

One of the myriad reasons I’m not a book deal blogger is because if someone tells me not to blog something, I don’t. Otherwise I’d have so many delightful stories. Suffice it to say there’s been a bit of a…

Friday 5: Shape of things to come

Happy Friday! It’s been a heck of a week, but I’m off of work until July 10 so hooray for a little bit of sloth and self-care and a little bit of fun. Here is the Friday Five ON A…

TBT: Duke and Bandit

I found an instant photograph taken of Duke and Bandit, 2 dogs from 1978. You can tell it’s an old photo because of the bright red sofa, the insane flash, and the disinterested arm on the right that couldn’t be…

Fractured Fairy Tales

Woof. Finally the nonbloggable becomes bloggable – Mom (aka A-Woww) tripped and fell 2 weeks ago, fracturing her kneecap and shattering her elbow. The knee will heal on its own in an immobilizer which thankfully allows her to walk. The…

Friday 5: Questions created very quickly late Friday morning and answered on Saturday

Oh, Internet. It’s been a week. A week of nonbloggable crap. It’ll get blogged eventually, but not yet. It’s not my story to tell. Plus I think the country is 1970s-level of broken right now, and I think it’s going…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
