Currently… a day late. Because I’m off of work this week and I lost track of my days. Eeeeesh. This linkup is courtesy of Anne in Residence. arranging – The patio furniture out back, which will be Mother Nature’s cue…

Easter 2021

Time is relentless, dragging you through the days and weeks just like nothing’s wrong. And just like that, it was Easter. On Friday and Saturday I did my usual Easter baking – two Easter breads and two ham pies. J&K…

Sad news

Thursday morning I received news from my father that my cousin had passed. He was only 2 years younger than me. And because he and his family lived in the Marshall Islands, I’m not sure when it’s going to seem…

March 2021 Extras

Here are some photos and thoughts from March that were a little thin for their own posts. Like others, I watched the saga of the Ever Given, the giant cargo ship that was stuck in the Suez Canal. After a…

Every Other Day of the Week is Fine, Yeah.

a kitchen faucet

That was a fast-moving weekend. Sheesh. Saturday night our kitchen faucet sprung a leak. It has a retractable sprayer that pulls down from the faucet, and it was that flexible hose that began to spray water all over the place….

Friday 5: Obstacle Course

a lemon cake, in a bundt shape

This week has completely flown. I feel like other than work, I have nothing to show for it. What have I done? Here’s a few trivial things: I moved my yoga practice to mornings instead of after work. I hate…

Pfizer COVID-19 VAX #2!

three drinks, a remote, a kindle, a thermometer, and airpods

On Friday I received the 2nd of the 2 Pfizer vaccines, which means in 2 weeks I’ll be protected from serious illness/death and mostly protected from catching and transmitting the original strains and possibly substantially protected from the newer variants?…

What I’m Watching: The Iceland Volcano

This won’t be the most evergreen blog post, but I’ve been watching the live feed of the erupting volcano in Geldingadalur, Iceland. To watch, click this link and then click the play button in the middle of the photo to…

Friday 5: Consumer Reports

a small, stuffed plague doctor, cuter than it sounds

Happy Friday! Today I was off from work for this momentous event: After which I TORE off my mask and licked the doorhandles. Nah. I kept my mask on and still used hand sanitizer because I care about most others….

Beware the Dogs of March.

Ollie and Murphy on my yoga mat.

Actually, you don’t need to beware. They’re pretty friendly and snuggly. Ollie and Murphy are absolute pleasures to have around. And they are ALWAYS around Ollie has had a coughing issue off and on for a year now. The cough…

Angry Man Farm 2021 – The beginning

Like many of the things 2020 brought us, last year’s garden adventure was a bust. The squirrels (possibly a raccoon?) ate almost all of the corn before it fully ripened. Our herbs were hampered by a very late frost and…

Friday 5: Twelve Months

graphic that says no photos, just words

HI! This post is dark and sad and angry, okay? So if that would upset you (looks at family) maybe you should come back in a few days when I post pictures of my little seedlings, okay? If you’re here…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
