Show Us Your Books May 2020

Book post day! One of my favorite bloggy days of the month. It’s another four-book month and that is fine. You’ll see a reason why my reading is lower than usual in a few. The Address Book: What Street Addresses…

Scaredy-Kim gets out there!

Friends, I had a delightful weekend. TNP’s conference successfully wound down on Friday, and Mom delivered an Entenmann’s chocolate cake to my door. VERY NICE. For dinner, I had some spaghetti with pesto I froze from last year alongside a…

What I’m Listening To: Unapologetic Fun

I rediscovered (aka reset) my Spotify password the other day and found this playlist which I loved so much that I forgot it existed. It’s nothing but boppy pop music. Shuffle for optimal fun. While I am not a music…

This week is TNP’s annual conference which is being held online. It’s a very ambitious program with a mix of live workshops and prerecorded sessions with live chat and as of this writing at lunchtime on the last day, everything’s…

Currently, May 2021

The beginning of the month means the Currently linkup with Anne In Residence. This month’s words are: consuming, exploring, getting, hoping, and seeing. consuming Streamers on Twitch. Yes, I’ve become a person who watches other people play video games. I…

April 2021 extras

Here are some photos and thoughts from April that were a little thin for their own posts. Nephew A turned 7 and is predictably into Minecraft. Look at this creation! It even lights up and the pick is removable. I…

Friday 5: The Winner is

Ahoy, it’s Friday! WM went back to work *at* school today. If he wasn’t vaccinated I’d be losing my mind. This is the longest amount of time we’ve been apart since March, 2020. Everyone knows that having school online is…

Angry Man Farm – Movin’ Outside

In March, I started some seeds for this year’s garden. Out of everything I planted, I emerged with: One sage plant One lavender plant Five moss roses that look barely viable Two cauliflower plants Five jalapeno peppers Five sweet pepper…

Murphy, April 2021

Earlier in the year the bottom panel completely fell out of our back screen door. The screen was already gone (thanks, Murph) but now the ‘dog door’ portion is large enough for Ollie to walk in and out of without…

Friday 5: RE:

Time for some lunchtime blogging! I worked for about 5 hours last Sunday, so this workweek officially is 6 days long yet feels 10 days long. This lunch break is an hour long but feels 5 minutes long. Rude. Here’s…

Accountability

Yesterday Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all three charges in the murder of George Floyd. I and millions of others were relieved and almost celebratory. But a guilty conviction on a crime that had multiple eyewitnesses on the scene…

Welcome BrunhIIlde!

It’s hard to say goodbye to a 22 year old Jeep, especially one as special as Brunhilde was to us. On a fateful day in May 2007, WM packed her up with as much as she could carry and drove…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
