Notsodark

I joined Netflix, which should make anybody who knows me laugh heartily. I’m not much of a movie person, but I figure I should start playing catchup. I signed up on Saturday of last week and my first DVD arrived on Tuesday. Sweet! My first choice is… The Mask of Zorro.

A pick for a few reasons. I used to love the old Zorro TV show. Used to watch it all the time on the Disney Channel. I’m a sucker for good swordplay…swashbucklers…the like. It also has Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones, former girl-crush.

But who would have known of the unassuming hotness of Anthony Hopkins? Just…wow. Think of it this way…you go to a great steak place for dinner. You expect the steak to be fantastic. You expect the dessert to be decadent. But it ends up being the mashed potatoes that unexpectedly knocks your socks off.

In any case, it’s playing on my laptop while I wait for my new sofa to arrive. It’s red. 😉

Edited to add: No sofa today. The freight elevator’s broken. Rescheduling.

The Devils beat the Hurricanes last night for their season opener. I splurged on the digital cable hockey package so I can follow the team better this year.

I’m going to a Halloween party! My costume choices have been narrowed down to Alice in Wonderland (it’s been a down-the-rabbit-hole, through-the-looking-glass, hey-can-I-smoke-some-of-that? type of year), a Mouseketeer, or some elaborate ren-faire type lady. Any ideas? Difficulty: I most likely am going to sew it myself.

I’m sorry, but I couldn’t deal with the preposterousness of casting Anthony Hopkins as a Mexican, and having him make no stab whatsoever at putting on any sort of accent.

    The red sofa rocks.

Hockey package? You probably singlehandedly increased the enrollment by 20%.

As for costumes… haven’t I seen you dressed as a pretty hot pirate wench? Or have I imagined that? Either way, I vote for that.

Anthony Hopkins as de la Vega: “You know, there is a saying, a very old saying: when the Pupil is ready, the Master will appear.”

    Oh good… I’m glad I didn’t just dream that. 😉

Catherine’s so hot, but so annoying on those Tmobile commercials!

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
