Friday 5: Aha!

Hello and happy Memorial Day weekend! Today is my first Summer Friday! TNP gives us alternating Fridays off during the summer, one of the best perks of working there. But it’s chilly and rainy, so no beach for me. I…

Christmastime in the City

One lovely day during the Season, Mom and I traveled a great distance* into Philadephia to see the sights. We saw: The Holiday show in the Comcast Center lobby, which was delightful. It would also be a great place to…

Friday (okay Saturday) Five: Usage

Happy Saturday! It’s April 5th. Even as the years are peeled off of my life’s calendar, I will always remember this day with a warm smile and a wish that all involved parties are doing well and living authentically. Yesterday…

October sunset

The sunset last night was gorgeous. We live in a west-facing apartment, so the living room was flooded with pinks and oranges. I took this from our balcony. That’s the Walt Whitman bridge in the background. (Fall still sucks.)

Welcome, Coughy DeSquirts!

I received an envelope in the mail today emblazoned with “10.01.13 – AN EPIC EVENT IS COMING TO NEW JERSEY” and featuring photos of healthy multicultural (and uninsured) young people. I thought it was promoting some sort of 5K that…

Wordless Wednesday: Almost an Angel

January 1, 2013

Here comes 2013!

We went to a late lunch today (It was around 4 pm, which put us in with the over-80 dinner crowd. And I am NOT kidding about that.) and we both agreed that 2012 was amazing. It’s the first year…

I prefer the word "eccentric" thank you very much.

You know those powerball jackpots that come up every once a year and get us all dreaming? I have many of the same items on the “what would I do” list as most people. And then there’s this one. There’s…

Five years away from always having my right blinker on

Of all the things I miss about being younger, number one will always be the ability to wear trashy heels without feeling mangled after an hour. Number two is the confidence I used to have while driving. Today I had…

These are the people in my neighborhood

(or…why Facebook groups suck) Let’s start my 40th year with a rant! I live in a little town in Southern New Jersey that was kind of a pit while I was growing up. About fifteen years ago, a main street…

Rower buns

(Dedicated to the lovely men and women who come to Cooper River to race and who think nothing of exercising mere inches away from oncoming cars.) (to the tune of “Silver Bells”) See the sidewalks, On the sidewalks, Dressed in…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
