I watch movies now!

a stock photo of movie theater popcorn downloaded from pexels

Remember when I didn’t watch movies? That isn’t the case anymore! Here are some more I watched over the summer. The Fall Guy: A lot of people loved this movie and I was looking forward to it because I was…

Recent movies I’ve watched

what happens later movie poster

I miss Movie Night. It’s still happening via Discord but being on the East Coast has its disadvantages, and every Friday one or both Russells are passed out by 10pm. I’m hoping summer gets us back into the swing of…

Don’t touch that dial (of Destiny!)

Kim is grumpily standing next to a poster of Indiana Jones and the DIial Destiny. She is holding an expensive souvenir popcorn bucket.

(Me, after reading an AskMetafilter question about watching streaming TV without a TV) Me: A lot of these people are telling the OP not to use a Smart TV’s features because it collects your data. And, y’know, I don’t care…

Good and Meh 2024: Week 4

my new craft corner, a few shelves with crafty tchotchkes above my beat up IKEA table and $10 chair

Good Things: It was a good week for a list-maker, because I crossed almost everything off of my list each day. Once the big thaw started to happen, Murphy and I were able to start taking good walks again. I…

Holiday Movie and Special Roundup – 2023

Movie poster for Hallmark's holiday hotline. She's in red, wearing a telephone headset. He's wearing brown because this movie starts at Thanksgiving and is on his phone.

Happy New Year, friends! May it be kind to us all. Steamboat Willie is now part of the public domain so you’d better believe I’m using him here on the blog! We consumed a good amount of holiday media between…

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

kim, deadpan with a commemorative popcorn bucket

Anyone who’s hung around here for a little bit knows that WM is a huge, huge, huge, epic Indiana Jones fan. He (and I guess by default, we) owns many replicas and Lego sets and pieces of art about the…

Friday Movie Night Part IV: The Awakening

One of the highlights of my week is watching movies with my far-flung friends on Fridays. I’m thankful that technology has made that all possible. I also sort of hope we keep doing it, even as things open back up….

I loved Die Hard, which is not a Christmas Movie

Last year I bought WM these Die Hard themed Funko Pops as Christmas decor because he, like many on The Internet, believe that Die Hard is a Christmas movie. And I humored him, because I had never seen the movie…

Friday Movie Night, part II

We are still watching movies on Friday nights with friends. A few of them collaborated to build a bot on our Discord server that allows us to nominate movies, and on Friday afternoon, it creates a poll with 3 random…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
