These are the people in my neighborhood

(or…why Facebook groups suck) Let’s start my 40th year with a rant! I live in a little town in Southern New Jersey that was kind of a pit while I was growing up. About fifteen years ago, a main street…

Statesbabes

It’s been a while since I had a chance to eyeball MSN and their humorous home page. They still don’t disappoint. In the name of balance there is a Hot Republicans gallery too. I didn’t catch it while it was…

A lady looks at 40

I started this blog when I was 30. Today I turn 40. (zomg!) Forty laughs harder than thirty. Forty is rounder than thirty. Forty is so very much wiser than thirty. And forty is happier than thirty. Today my coworkers…

Stupid Beading Tricks: Sorting

I haven’t managed to create ONE stupid thing since before the wedding. I blame married life for sapping away all of my creativity. And the more I look at beading sites and Pinterest, the more I think I’m a talentless…

Yoo-hoo! I'm back!

That was just weird. No matter what password I entered into my login box, nothing happened. I changed a bunch of passwords, deleted a bunch of junk from my FTP directories, installed a different theme and now it seems to…

Yes, I'm still married!!

Whoa. I blinked and July flew by. What happened in July? 1) We got married. The lovely wedding photos were taken by Douglas Bovitt. Douglas did a masterful job at making two pasty gaming misanthropes look human. “Look like you’re…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

A plucky heroine and academically minded hero? A road trip to Key West? Optimism v pessimism?? Adults being adults and using their words to keep disagreements from lasting more than a few hours? Sign me up forever.

the wombsday clock graphic with two teal haired women in white rockers. It has reached 12 months and there are teal and white stars all over the graphic.
Well, that happened.
