Currently, Labor Day weekend edition

At any given time, to reduce stress (and HOO BOY THIS SUMMER) I pick one of these three: eating, drinking alcohol or biting my nails. I’ll give you one guess as to which one I’ve been resorting to. One guess….

Friday 5 on Saturday: Five of Whatever

Happy, um, Saturday. I don’t know where yesterday went, other than after work WM and I went to Iron Hill Brewery for a lovely dinner. I had one beer (one!) and came home and snored on the sofa while we…

Seattle 2017

Our fifth anniversary was in July and we spent it sitting on a crosscountry flight on our way back from our second trip to Seattle. Not the best way to spend the day, but a great trip to mark the…

Total Eclipse of the Heart

In case you’ve been living under a rock, there was a total solar eclipse in North America yesterday. And while I wasn’t passionate enough to get myself into the path of totality, I wasn’t about to miss out on the…

Watching: SummerSlam. Right now it’s the match for the US Title, aka the Battle of the Boos featuring My Boo AJ Styles (so hot in a “come ride in my pickup truck” way) and My Boo Kevin Owens, who is…

Friday 5: Homecoming

Happy Friday! Today was my last Summer Friday of the season. (Boooo!) And it rained most of the morning (BOOOO!) so no beach for me. Bah. Instead, we went to see The Hitman’s Bodyguard. It was okay. I went in…

TBT: Drums

Christmas, 1975 or 1976. Mickey Mouse drums, naturally. The picture is grainy, but I found this picture on eBay so we could appreciate the art in all of its 1970s Psychedelic Funk! I don’t remember the drum set after this…

Doggo update

I’m calling them doggos today to sound more Internet-hip. Is it working? Ollie is doing great, and completely embracing his mellow years. Having a younger brother has brought the happiness back to him, and even though I know he’s annoyed…

This was a choreful weekend, but a good one nonetheless. On this Sunday night, I’m currently… Reading: I just finished Sonia Sotomayor’s My Beloved World this morning and next on tap is The Animators by Kayla Rae Whitaker. Both came…

Friday 5: Scattergories O

Happy Friday, dears. It was a good workweek, probably the most productive and accomplished I’ve had in a long while. It felt good. Young Murphy had his neuter on Tuesday, and the day after forking out all that cash, I…

TBT: Cousins

Easter, 1979 or 1980. Cousin P, Cousin S, and me. We are at my grandmother’s house which always looked like that. There’s a holy water receptacle by the door. I wore the yellow dress quite a few times before growing…

Show us your books August 2017

Remember the halcyon days of April when I was all “YEAH! I’M GONNA DO THIS LINKUP THING!” and then two weeks later we got a puppy and in June THINGS happened and I didn’t have time to read? Yeah, me…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
