Infertility Awareness Week

wooden figurines of a traditional womanly-shaped body and a traditional man-shaped body. The woman's figure has a cutout of a child, making that part of her body empty

Today is the last day of Infertility Awareness Week which is probably timed to get it out of the way before the two month slog around Mother’s Day and Father’s Day begins. I am, as you are undoubtedly aware of…

Happy Friday, which is also National Pretzel Day (yum!), National Hairball Awareness Day (I don’t know how you could be unaware if you have a cat, but okay), and a day off from work. I have to burn through some…

A work trip to San Diego

a gigantic pile of sea-blue lanyards with empty plastic badge holders clipped to them

TNP is a membership association and one of the things that associations typically do is have a big annual conference. Attendees learn new things, network, see the sights of a city that’s newish to them, and everyone has a blast….

Happy Friday, which is also National Clean Out Your Medicine Cabinet Day (I must do this), National Amaretto Day (yes!), and TNP’s annual post-conference day off, which is why I’m blogging in the daytime. What does my day off entail?…

Random thoughts on a weekend

a row of tulips, orange, pink, red, and white.

ONE I was wandering the web and I saw this phrase on someone’s website advertising their speaking services: We live in a sin stained world… And I felt sad for her, because what a terrible way to see things. YES,…

A non poli-sci wonk’s attempt at term limits

a photo collage of the Penguin, Madame the Puppet, Statler and Waldorf, Senator Bob Menendez, Charlie McCarthy, and Thurston Howell III

We in the USA have a bit of a problem with politicians staying in their elected positions for way too long. The presidency has a two-term limit (thank God) but if you’re in Congress? It can be a lifetime job….

February and March cards

February cards, purple inked flowers on a white textured background and "happy birthday" on the front

My February cards were a riff off of my Valentine cards, but I’m not as pleased with them. The card fronts are comprised of a die cut rose stamped with purple ink adhered to embossed white card stock with a…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
