forboding

Did you ever get the feeling that it’s going to be a Very Bad Day? It’s why I’m awake at this hour, clinging to my bed for a few final safe minutes fefore I enter the maelstrom.

I was toying around w/taking off tomorrow. I have a meeting that I have to attend at 10am, but I’d be happy showing up at 9:55 and leaving at 10:35. Then, Mom&I are going away for the weekend!

Which I’ll definately need, because June is going to suck. Jury Duty on the 1st. Travel to Corporate Headquarters in McLean, VA for training June 6-9. The week after is my BIG MEETING in Atlantic City, June 12-14. If my archives weren’t totally broken* to the point I can’t even Google my site anymore, I’d have linked you to the great pods of angst about last year’s big meeting. (Fixed that post: Here it is.) The week after that, I go to a seminar (Virginia again) from June 21-24. My publisher signed me up for it about 7 or 8 months ago. It’s supposed to be filled with work and discussions and lots of reading. I even have to write a bio about myself to submit.

“KT is a talentless hack who’s been in her current position for 18 months, but you wouldn’t know it by the rampant lack of confidence and frequent spots of panic that dot her day.”

One day at a time, I s’pose.

*Back in the old Blogger days, I didn’t have to title my posts. Seems WordPress creates the URL for each post based on its title. No title – no URL – no can be found – no Googling. Seven hundred-plus posts means I have to do a LOT of titling. Plus, the paragraph breaks didn’t carry over from Blogger either. That said, I’m still happy I quit Blogger, and didn’t choose Movable Type. I just can’t stand the a-list blogger fawning over Six Apart.

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
