Christmas song honkers

Goooood morning! Today is holiday luncheon day, and believe me, the urge to do anything constructive is gone.I brought my cam, so maybe I can get some good festive shots.

Here’s another honker of a Christmas song that I hadn’t heard since last year — that crappy “Christmas Shoes” one. Little kid, Christmas Eve, dying mother. Reeeeeeeeeeealy makes you want to get out of bed in the morning. it makes “Where are you Christmas” seem as fun as a Weird Al song.

So the first week of management was pretty ducky. No major crises. Went to target last night and picked up a cute new top for the luncheon. It’s a red knit v-neck shirt with a white collar, cuffs, and tails sewn to it to look like a 2-piecer. It’s cute, except I’m feeling compelled to tuck in the tails. You’re not supposed to, though. I’m also donning my light-up reindeer antlers, and jingle bells around my neck and on my earrings. Fear me.

Mood: Joyful
Work docket: I have to muddle through Hot Properties. Then we’re just going to relax. I have to write cards out for the folks here at work today.
Afternoon Plans: I put CookieCam on hiatus for today. I need to spend time with laundry and vaccumming and Max this afternoon.
Evening: May go see “Return of the King” tonight w/David. The movie runs 3 hours and 20 minutes. I wish I could pop into the theater for the last hour and twenty minutes. Me thinky that Aragorn should hook up with Eowyn, the butt-kicking blond human girl. But I’m darn sure he’s going to end up with the elf Arwyn. I mean…she’s going to look like that for the course of his natural human life. He’s going to be 80 and she’ll still be Liv Tyler. What man would give that up?
Weekend: Unknown! But decorating the Christmas tree will happen.

Have you clicked on my story below yet? 🙂

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
