Wordless Wednesday 2025: Week 3

a vanilla-almond late with leaf latte art on top. My glasses and fountain pain are purposefully placed on the wooden table behind the cup because this is how we on the internet manipulate you into thinking everything is perfect

A day in the life of working from home

kim at her desk. A painted spaceship earth is on the wall. It's a pretty desk. She's wearing a white fleece pullover hoodie which makes her look hunchier than she is. This is a completely staged photo.

5:15pm – WM’s alarm goes off. He takes Murphy with him to feed and let him out. They’ll come back upstairs around 5:45 to for WM to get ready. 6:20am: WM leaves for work and shuts the door to the…

On letting the office go

kim's empty cubicle at TNP

I knew this date was coming, but as of November 22, TNP has vacated our office in Philadelphia. It was inevitable, really, because we never went back to the office (I’d have been fine with a 3/2 split) and rent…

Some words: I still work for TNP, but we are letting our office in Philadelphia go this week.

My podcast lineup

(L-R) Alex Auder joins Everything Is Fine podcast hosts Jennifer Romolini and Kim France at Fergie's Pub in Philadelphia

To help me cope with my work from home solitude and to keep the days from running into each other, I had to establish a morning routine. One of the elements of my morning routine includes listening to podcasts. None…

My work from home necessities

A gray, mostly-felt tote to carry work items around the house

Disclosure: I’m trying Amazon affiliate links. I’ll receive some sort of compensation if you purchase these items via my link. Note to concerned family: I AM NOT BROKE. I am just trying something, okay? I’ve been working from home for…

Hydration

A blue mickey mouse mug, a brown glass, a natural colored mug with "HOME" on it (the o in home is a silhouette of Cinderella castle) and a S'well water bottle.

I know that keeping hydrated is a good thing for bodies, but since I’ve turned into a permanent work from home goblin, all I do is drink. Morning: CoffeeMid-morning: Second cup of coffee (occasionally)Lunch: Diet Dr. Pepper, classily poured into…

Catching up

kim cheesing with a '50' sign at walt disney world in September

Hey Kim! What’s been going on? Personally: In July I joined a gym, which announced its closing 6 weeks later. Then I joined another gym, which is still open. I go in 2-3 times a week and do a mix…

Work from home Mondays

TNP (which isn’t new anymore but I’m too lazy to change pseudonyms) instituted a new policy where we are able to pick one day a week to work from home. We could pick Monday, Thursday, or Friday, which allows us…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
