Friday 5: Ice Is Forming on the Tips of My Wings

Happy Friday and DAMN I’m tired. I think I’m getting a cold because I feel fuzzy in the head.

WM and me mugging for camera

Philadelphia international airport. Probably 4am.

So we’re going to get right to the Friday 5, and I’m going to hie to my sofa and quilts. This week’s theme is Ice Is Forming on the Tips of My Wings, and I’m not even going to use that theme to complain about yesterday’s snow. I’m that beat.

1. How do you feel about passengers riding in front of you reclining their seats?
Not a fan. I think it’s pretty rude to take up some of the area that I paid for, yet I’ll never say anything because I’m a wimp.

2. What single aspect of airplane flight do you dislike the most?
When the person behind me grabs onto my seat to haul themselves up. I’ve had hair ripped from my head while people did that. On my flight to Florida, the man behind kept his hand on the back of my seat the entire time he was awake. Don’t touch my seat!

3. What was your longest flight on an airplane?
Philadelphia to San Diego, I believe.

4. What’s your favorite way to pass the time on a long flight?
Completing the crossword puzzle in the inflight magazine, then reading that magazine. I think inflight magazines have some fantastic pieces in them, if you look between the ads. I miss the SkyMall catalog. I know it’s online now, but I’m never going to look at it while I’m on the ground.

5. What are the best and worst things you’ve eaten on a plane or in an airport?
The Great American Bagel Bakery in SeaTac airport offered the worst breakfast bagel sandwich I had ever had. How something manages to be hard AND greasy is beyond me.

Goodnight. 😉

Dear US Airways

Bags get lost. And you, US Airways, are very good at that. But rather than make the handful of us from US Airways flight 1084 wait 90 minutes while you insist our bags aren’t coming up as a result of a baggage belt jam, couldn’t you have told us the truth that the bags NEVER LEFT ORLANDO?

By the way, we checked in with US Airways 2 1/2 hours before the scheduled departure of our flight, which was then delayed an hour. Which was not as bad as our flight TO Orlando, which left 3 hours late because the baggage was improperly loaded.

Here’s hoping that my bag arrives home today. Because I’m here without makeup or a hairbrush, and I pity my coworkers. 🙂

Update 5:40pm: The bag that was supposed to have been delivered to my apartment complex “after noon” is at neither the leasing office nor the management office. The website says it’s “RECEIVED AT AIRPORT / DELIVERY PROCESS INITIATED” but do I believe that? Now I’ve been on hold for 20 minutes. I’m trying not to be the annoying customer here, but I just want my bag and am even willing to pick it up at the airport. It has all of my WDW souvenirs in it as well as my Proactiv, which isn’t cheap and is much needed. My patience is waning and unless the ticket is less than $100, I will not be flying USAirways again.

Update 8:40pm: You can sleep easy. The bag has been dropped off and I’ll be my beautiful (chortle) self tomorrow.

And Max is here with me to stay.
