Uncool: Shaving one’s legs

Second in a continuing (but probably sporadic) series of thing that I used to think were nifty, cool, the bees’ knees…but now? Notsomuch. Shaving one’s legs: Then: In Jr. High..we used to eye with envy the girls who shaved their…

1 day to go!

Dig the hair! I used to think that color looked natural on me, too. (Actually…I’m considering going back that light again.) Photo taken in a hotel room in New Orleans. Tanned, blonde, fit(tish), large hoop earrings, gobs of makeup. This…

2 days

I wish I had remembered after I found the ‘three’ picture and the ‘twenty-three’ picture that ‘thirteen’ was THE YEAR OF THE HAIRCUT! Plus, it was 1986, so factor in the hot-roller effect. This is the least offensive shot I…

After-school special

On any trip to an Atlantic City casino, you gain increased exposure to what I insensitively call the “wheelchair and oxygen” crowd. The senior citizens. The oldsters. Spending the money that’s deducted from my paycheck each week. They are slow….

the days keep scribbling themselves in tidy lines

In honor of my finally getting the hostess page back up and styled properly, today’s self-serving post is: Hostess Shots gone horribly wrong! I cleared a lot of junk off of my pc this weekend, and I stumbled across hostess…

On the Record

Tonight, Mom and I took the train into Philly to see Disney’s On the Record, their nationally touring musical revue. My God…I was in heaven. I’ll be singing Disney tunes all day tomorrow – pity my coworkers. The cast was…

Too old for the Grammys

I didn’t watch the Grammys last night. I didn’t even feel a pang of regret, which is a telling sign of how I’ve grown up without even knowing it. Back when I was in Jr. High, High School, and college,…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
