The Killing Moon review

The Killing Moon by N.K. Jemisin My rating: 4 of 5 stars I used to think I was bored by fantasy novels, but I think I was bored of elves-and-dwarves-and-orcs, LordAndLadyofWoodyWood, boy magical prodigy fantasy novels. This one? This was…

Stupid beading tricks: more earrings

Inspired by Pinterest, I headed back to the bead table to crank out some earrings. I really like orange, turquoise and brass together. The bee earrings are adorable and even though I gifted them already, I have materials to make…

Review: A Rogue by Any Other Name

A Rogue by Any Other Name by Sarah MacLean My rating: 3 of 5 stars I used to read romance novels in high school. Never the entire book, mind you. Just the dog-eared passages passed around under the cafeteria tables….

Brothers and very best friends

We’ve been having a lot of thunderstorms lately. During a particularly nasty one, the zoo was hunkered down on the sofa with me. And this happened. Yes, that’s Charlie and Ollie “holding paws” during the storm. If I could freeze…

Stupid beading tricks: Sprite bracelet

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
