Friday 5: Double Stuf

Friday, May 27

Happy Friday! I am off from work today and feeling peppy (for now) so let’s give the Friday 5 a quick whirl, shall we? This week’s theme is Double Stuf. While I enjoy Double Stuf Oreo, my preferred Oreo is…

Sick and tired of being sick and tired

I have been a grown-ass adult for decades now and I cannot remember a time where so many terrible events were happening in such rapid succession. There is no respite. It’s all so heavy. Current events are terrible and I…

We caught Covid.

sofa with tissues, dayquil, snacks, and water in the background

I didn’t catch it from HersheyPark last August, or the indoor wedding that I was advised to skip in October, or from the Walt Disney World trip in January. Or from going to see a show in February, or going…

Show Us Your Books – May 2022

I haven’t updated since last book review? And I have how many crummy drafts? Five? Do I even do the April Extras now that we’re 11 days into May? Eh, it’ll all shake out. It’s just a blog, not a…

Guess who’s back?Back again?Kim is back…tell a friend! I did a lot of reading in prep for my CAE exam in December and it put me off from pleasure reading for a while. Which is okay! I knew the desire…

March 2022 Extras

Some photos and thoughts from March that were thin for their own blog posts… This is the phone game of the moment and was my PC game of choice in the early 2000s back when Flash games were a thing….

Friday 5: Nice

Rabbit rabbit! It’s April 1 and with the exception of the author, this post is 100% fool-free. I am a last-minute call-up to go work TNP’s annual conference in Nashville next week. This weekend, your girl here needs to buy…

Angry Man Farm 22 – the deep freeze

Of course, of course, as soon as I felt cocky and thought “hmmmm….I can plant some cold weather crops like garlic and lettuce outside!” on Sunday we plunged back into temperature lows in 20s and snow squalls. Of course. will…

Return of the Murph

Murphy immodestly on his back

Young Murphy suffered an ACL injury around the time that Ollie died last summer. (August 2021 was something.) The veterinarian decided that since it was only partially torn, if we kept him calm (ha!) for a few months (what?) and…

The weekend that was a balm to my soul

the beach at ocean city, nj

It was gorgeous here in NJ this weekend. On Saturday the temp went up to the low 70s, and Sunday it was in the high 50s. SPRING HAS SPRUNG! Know that I jinx us all by typing this, because it…

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)
