Friday 5: 52.6641°N 8.6288°W

Happy Friday! Today is National Dumpling Day (steamed please!), National Compliance Officer Day (mmkay), and National Situational Awareness Day.

…

Friends, I have been starting these posts with the National Day observances and I fear that I may have hit the bottom of the barrel.

friday september 26

It’s also National Brave Day and while I insist that I am not brave, this month has been an exercise in low-stakes bravery. There was a small restructuring at my job and now that the dust has settled I find myself the head of my department.

Can I do that job? Yes, I can. Is it forcing me to stretch in ways that are new and different? Also yes. I’m not going into it any more than that, but it’ll be nice to flex the CAE muscles some more.

This week’s Friday 5 theme is 52.6641°N 8.6288°W. You don’t have to look up what city is located there. Look at the questions and you might figure it out on your own.

  1. What is your water flask like?
I am still using a S’well bottle from about six years ago. It’s lightweight and it keeps my water cold. I also have a Yeti upstairs but it’s very heavy.
  2. When did you last hold a mic?
I think it was about a year and a half ago when I introduced a speaker at a MASAE meeting. I’m unable to attend the annual meeting in Atlantic City in December because it is the same day as TNP’s holiday party. By the time I left the party and headed to AC, I’d miss the entire first day of programming.
  3. Of whom are you jealous?
I’m jealous of people who can jet off on vacations whenever they’d like. I used to be jealous of people who owned houses at the Jersey shore, but I’d be bored going to the Jersey shore every week and I’d be terrified that my house would be washed away in a storm.
  4. For what are you zealous?
Sleep. I am ruthless about making my bedroom perfect to sleep in. A made bed with clean and crispy sheets, low lighting, and an always-on ceiling fan is perfection.
  5. And when might you go on a hike?
Probably never. I have a whole page in a notebook dedicated to trails I’d like to hike/walk but I never go. Maybe next spring. You know what? I’ll plan to do that next spring. Life is short.

And if you didn’t surmise from the questions, the city of Limerick is located at 52.6641°N 8.6288°W.

Have a wonderful weekend, and I’ll be back on Monday!

Previous Post Wordless Wednesday: Week 39

Hello!

About Me

I've been blogging for over twenty (2 decades! 2-0!) years and I'm apparently one of the few over-50 female bloggers who haven't sold out to THE MAN yet; hence this blog remains quirky, homespun, and unprofitable. No big. However, if you're from Disney, Doritos, or Dave Matthews Band, I'm open to talk about selling out.

I live in Southern New Jersey with my husband WM, and our dog Murphy. I'm an adult who likes Disney but not a Disney Adult. I used to work a fun (really!) office job in Philadelphia, but since March of 2020 I'm a work from home hermit. So if you're looking for a childless, slightly round, marginally boring GenX woman's blog to follow, you've come to the right place! :)

Well, that happened.
